Millennium Key deckstudio.net and roninpro.com to be decomissioned

Due to budget issues, and also to consolidate everything, the deckstudio.net domain and roninpro.com domains will no longer be viable links starting at the end of July.

In its place, I encourage you to use (and spread the word) that you can get to the primary pages for the Toolkit tools by going to http://deckstudio.ccgtoolkit.com and http://ronin.ccgtoolkit.com. Of course, you can always bookmark the primary site, http://ccgtoolkit.com and use the "Tools / Teams" link to get you where you need to go.

Everything on the CCG Toolkit site is nicely integrated, and I believe that it will serve as a great hub for all of the tools you need as things expand into new CCGs and the 2.0 releases of the programs become available.

You'll also find that shortly any reference to ygotoolkit.dillieodigital.net will redirect you to ccgtoolkit.com. I'm in the process of merging over the final posts and files necessary.

So please spread the word that Deck Studio and RONIN are not going away, they are just going to a new home and we're re-tooling the addresses a bit.

Thanks again for all your continued support.

Spreading the word will be important, as we well know, once a Yu-Gi-Oh! players starts a rumor about something being dead, the ditto heads start treating it as fact.

okay, so what does that mean for those of us who #1 use the 1.6.1 version of RONIN online and #2 NEED to go offline every once in a while and can never get the updates?

Or is this one of those things where I'm going to have to go to http://ronin.ccgtoolkit.com and read all the instructions faqs and start pretty much over again, because I've been too petrified to go download anything (especially for offline--which I still have on my laptop, as out of date as it is, but not on my PC)?

No, you'll be fine on the updates. Hmm, I DO have to check on RONIN 1.6.3, but the newer versions are pointing to a dillieodigital domain name to download the updates.

As for offline stuff. Have you checked out the RONIN dump file yet?

I have! And the searchability is great! I can even search for particular words ("target", "Trigger", "Cost", etc.) within the rulings themselves (something none of the programs can do).

Basically, right now I have the Offline rulings through the one before Genesis, then the individual set rulings for everything after. But my pride and joy is the complete old forum rulings. I may have to have 6 windows open, but I can pretty much find anything i need. One of these days I will edit it all together somehow and use, like, colors or something to show source. Of course NOTHING is oficial anymore except, basically, the Crisis and Raging set rulings, but......

It would be so cool if Konami contracted you guys to be their rulings distributors. Of course, they would have to double and triple check everything, so it would take a while before the rulings would be released, but RONIN, in my opinion, is still the best program I've seen (offline, especially). Of course, unless you need to see what the cards look like.

Yeah, you can't go offline anymore. I think the version date that I have was like a week before that happened. I know I have a set newer than SKey23 had and it had something on it he didn't, but I don't have my laptop with me so i don't know when that was. But I remember when it went down and was like...eew! Good thing I just did a download.

One good thing about paranoia! It keeps your updates and your emergency rations fresh!!!

Please update your (very old, uploaded in 2005) link on C|Net to Ronin -- it links to version 1.1.1817 from the now defunct Empyre Group at http://download.cnet.com/RONIN-Rulin...html?tag=mncol and if you search C|Net's download.com for "yugioh" it brings this up, shows it has had over 30,000 total downloads, and the search I just did said it was downloaded 50 times last week. You're also running a four and a half star rating (out of five), which is better than a lot of the freeware on the C|Net site.

I found you originally almost two years ago through this link -- I was searching for something else entirely, and randomly typed Yugioh into the search box while I was on the site in order to see what came up. And there was Ronin. I've been a fan of it ever since!

Sorry for the delay in getting back here, my online time gets pretty limited as of late.

Just as a heads up, there will be an update to RONIN here by the end of next month. It turns out that the servers were pointing to a deck studio domain, so I'm going to have to get everything pointing to the dillieodigital server here shortly.

As for the CNet download, unfortunately I don't have access to that account, but I'll see if I can contact them to somehow grant access to the account or something.

Say, off the wall question...

Are you going to be able to interface both the UDE and the Konami card rulings? I assume the Konami ones are going to be the only official ones, but assuming that the old ones are all we have to go by ... well, our local group is looking those up fairly regularly using my laptop and your software when we are stuck on how a card should work, or how it interacts with another card....

Any clue yet how this is going to play out?

As for the cNet thing, I have not clue. I'm only guessing they were using that as a mirror when RONIN first came out to save bandwidth. I'm sure I could find an admin somewhere.

Well, until I'm told otherwise, the rulings I have are still considered official, since they had to be "blessed" by Konami back in the day to be put on the FAQ page. I have a couple of judge friends that are still in the mix with Konami now and I'm sure they would have told me if something came out banning the older rulings. I can see where any of the UDE forums rulings were voided out, so I won't try to import those back in.

I got a copy of the CRMS and RGBT rulings recently and I'm working on pushing those into the system. They will stay one and the same, though the idea has crossed my mind to "tag" the rulings sources to make RONIN a little more robust. That way I could potentially leech the Konami forums (if they get a rulings thing going) and I could tag those rulings as "semi-official" and the other ones as official. That way you could filter out accordingly.

I would still love to be some kind of official distributor for rulings if Konami wants to work something out, but word seems to be kind of hush hush last few times I've poked by and I'm still not sure Konami is as motivated about a judge/rulings system like UDE was.

Official or not, it's a wonderful program, and is helping us sort out our various "how-the-heck-does-THIS-work?" questions on a regular basis!
