    Puppets?

No, I think we just need to get more people in here. Get this place a bit more lively, and revive all the games that are lying around decomposing.

Since there are so few people in here at the moment, for this round I'm going to allow up to... 3 different entries per person. It'll give me more to choose from.

    perfect summon
    Normal spell
Pay 2000 life points to send 1 card from your extra deck to special summon any monster from your hand or deck ignoring the summoning condition.

    No more Nomis
    Continuous Spell

Both players select one monster from their Decks that cannot be Normal Summoned or Set and add them to their Extra Decks. Both players may Special Summon these monsters from their Extra Decks if their summoning conditions are met.

    Rulings:
*If this card is removed from the field the monster remain in the extra deck, but they can no longer be special summoned.

*The monsters sent in the Extra Decks are returned to their owners decks at the end of each duel.

    Micro Arena
    Spell Field

Synchro Monster in the Extra Deck have their levels reduced by half, rounded up.

I'll admit Murano that this is a very difficult criteria, I really had to think about it before any I had any good ideas.

Yes, I thought it might have been. I'll just point out that I didn't say anything about jinzo64's first attempt at this (i.e. I didn't say it wasn't acceptable).

Admittedly, perhaps I'm looking for something off-topic in this "Create A Card Competition", so I shouldn't really have asked for it in the first place.

And of course, if either player of has 15 cards in their Extra Deck, neither can use the effect to add the NOMI monster to the Extra Deck. Neither would they be able to use any other card whose effect would result in a player having more than 15 cards in their Extra Deck.

    How about:

    Exemption From Ancient Rules
    Normal Spell
Pay 1000 Life Points. Special Summon from your Deck a Special Summon only monster that requires a Fusion Monster or Field Spell Card in order to Summon it, ignoring the Summoning conditions.

This is for Archlord Zerato, Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon, Mazera Deville and Mirage Knight.

Still working on one for Dark Sage, Valkyrion the Magna Warrior, Gate Guardian and Theinin the Great Sphinx. Not to mention the whole Moth set.

    Big Question
    normal spell
You can only activate this card if your opponant has two or more monsters on their side of the field. Shuffle your extra deck and your opponant calls a monster name. If the top card of your extra deck is the one called, destroy two monsters on your opponants side of the field (their choice) and special summons the monster in face-up attack position. If the top card of your extra deck is not the on called, destroy one card on the field then specal summons the monster on your side of the field in face-up attack position.

dunno, just came up off the top of my head when I read the lead.

I'll judge the cards tomorrow. If you want to slip in any last-minute entries, now's your chance. Below are my judging criteria.

    Relevance - /5
    • How well the card fits/carries out the posed theme.
    Creativity - /5
    • How unique and interesting the card is.
    Formatting - /5
    • Grammar, spelling, terminology. Is the text phrased like a proper card?
    Elegance - /5
    • How easy it is to see what the card does. Includes "block o' text" factor.
    Balance - /5
    • How well the card would fit into the game. Rates the power of the card.
    Total - /25

I need to edit mine. I just found an error.. it should read "If the top card of your extra deck is the one called, destroy two monsters on your opponants side of the field (their choice) and special summons the monster in face-up attack position to your opponants side of the field.

ruleings would include things like if the monster that had an effect that activates when it is syncro summoned successfully wouldn't get their effects due to it being a special summons.

A long post coming up. Spoiler: bobandjim wins with "No More Nomis", so it's his turn next.

    Relevance - 5/5
    • It certainly fits the task set (to do something interesting with the Extra Deck).
    Creativity - 4/5
    • Good approach to the task - I never said I specifically wanted a card here (although I've discovered this makes it very difficult to judge this entry). Point deducted for not following through with the idea and being more specific about which cards go in or out, and how the affected cards would be changed to make sure they're put into the Extra Deck (e.g. "This card goes in the Extra Deck.").
    Formatting - 3/5
    • As I said, hard to judge this because it's not a card.
    Elegance - 3/5
    • It's fairly easy to see what this entry wants, in theory. A couple of points deducted for lack of detail, e.g. would "Dark Sage" or "Dark Eradicator Warlock" go in? "Sorcerer of Dark Magic"? "Dark Sage"? Where's the line drawn? (It's coincidence that they're all "Dark Magician"-related.)
    Balance - 4/5
    • Very difficult to judge without extensively playing by these rules. However, I'm going to guess this won't be too game-breaking, because I can't think of a situation where it would be. Plus the limit on the Extra Deck's size helps, as people tend to want to throw in lots of Synchro Monsters as well.
    Total - 19/25

    Relevance - 3/5
    • The card mentions the Extra Deck, certainly, but it doesn't as such help it "live up to its name".
    Creativity - 3/5
    • Average. Nothing amazing happens here. Plus one point for counting the cards in it - number of cards in anything isn't often referenced.
    Formatting - 3/5
    • Can't easily fault it here. It's "Discard 1 card.", and I'm wondering whether it might be "for each card in their..." instead. But it's good enough.
    Elegance - 5/5
    • Couldn't be easier to see what the card does.
    Balance - 0/5
    • 15 x 500 = 7500. There's no way anyone will be going around with less than a full Extra Deck, so this card is going to do a lot of damage. The user will clearly have no cards in their Extra Deck, so the card becomes "discard 1 card to nearly OTK your opponent". How is this balanced at all?
    Total - 14/25

    Relevance - 4/5
    • I'm suffering from my own vague guidelines, because reviewing these cards I'm finding I can't tell how well any of them fit the theme. Quite good because it checks out the kind of card chosen.
    Creativity - 4/5
    • Multiple effects seem to always be a plus for me. Slipping Contact Summon monsters in there too is a nice touch.
    Formatting - 4/5
    • Only a couple of very minor issues here - missing capitals, mainly.
    Elegance - 4/5
    • The third effect, while it's probably necessary to be that cumbersome, still looks... cumbersome. And do you mean any Fusion Monster for the second effect, or ones that need to be Fusion Summoned initially (i.e. "Karbonala Warrior" wouldn't trigger any of these effects)? And can the second effect only Summon Fusion Monsters without Summoning restrictions (e.g. "Mokey Mokey King")?
    Balance - 2/5
    • There's no cost to the user, and they either get a Synchro Monster (i.e. powerful) or one of their Fusion Monsters (hmm) or mill the opponent's Deck a bit. The randomness of the effect helps slightly, but not enough.
    Total - 18/25

    Relevance - 1/5
    • The Extra Deck is part of the Cost(?), so it's barely being used at all.
    Creativity - 3/5
    • It's a different kind of effect to any others, but it still smells like an obvious one, if you know what I mean.
    Formatting - 3/5
    • The text could be cleaned up a bit.
    Elegance - 5/5
    • You can see what the card does easily.
    Balance - 3/5
    • A large Cost (Life Points plus a card from the Extra Deck), but a larger effect (any monster you want). Could easily be a game-breaker. The Cost is a step towards balance, but there's still more steps to take.
    Total - 15/25

    Relevance - 5/5
    • Now I do like this. Cards are moved around, rules are screwed, it's all great.
    Creativity - 5/5
    • Again, good stuff. I didn't think of this kind of effect when I set the task, and given I have an active imagination, that's saying something.
    Formatting - 4/5
    • Almost perfect.
    Elegance - 4/5
    • It's quite easy to see how it works, and the rulings do help (even though they're pretty much necessary to blag away all the rule-screwing). Perhaps the inclusion of a phrase like "as if it was in its owner's hand" would have helped.
    Balance - 5/5
    • Any possible advantage the player with this card might have had from rigging their Deck to take advantage of this card is countered by this taking up one of their Rear Card Zones.
    Total - 23/25

    Relevance - 3/5
    • As far as I can tell, this makes Synchro Monsters easier to bring out, since you don't need as many Levels for them now. However, that's only Synchro Monsters. Is there no love for the rest of the Extra Deck?
    Creativity - 4/5
    • It's the only card around that's fiddling the Levels of cards still in a Deck.
    Formatting - 4/5
    • Minor points only. It's too simple to mess up in a big way.
    Elegance - 5/5
    • Does exactly what it says on the tin.
    Balance - 5/5
    • Assuming the card works on both players, I'm going to have to go with full marks here. Although I'm not sure offhand how well Synchro Monsters work now that their Levels have been changed (any Level 4 Tuner seems to be mostly useless now).
    Total - 21/25

    Relevance - 0/5
    • And the Extra Deck is where now? I can see your tangential thinking here, but that means it's not connecting to what I asked for.
    Creativity - 4/5
    • It's interestingly picky about which monsters it can bring out (only a couple, apparently).
    Formatting - 4/5
    • Almost perfect, aside from the "Special Summon only monster" bit. I don't think that's a proper term in the game. Something like "a monster that can only be Special Summoned with its own effect by Tributing 1 or more named monsters". That'd cover all the other monsters you mentioned as well, plus some forgotten ones, but then that's changing the effect ("Mirage Knight" no longer combos, since it's Summoned by the effect of another card, not its own).
    Elegance - 5/5
    • It's as good as it'll get with this kind of effect.
    Balance - 4/5
    • I can't possibly know all the monsters this card will combo with, so I can't tell for sure. Getting the monster from the Deck is much easier than, say, from your hand, and the Cost is neither here nor there.
    Total - 17/25

    Relevance - 5/5
    • It uses the Extra Deck as a guessing game, which is good enough.
    Creativity - 5/5
    • As I said, guessing game. That's interesting.
    Formatting - 3/5
    • The attempt was made, but there's a lot of capitalisation not happening (probably just because it's a long effect) and a few other things too.
    Elegance - 4/5
    • Suffers from the "block o' text" factor, but otherwise it's fairly easy to read.
    Balance - 2/5
    • Nearly all the time you're going to get a random monster from your Extra Deck (assuming Summoning conditions are ignored) and also get to destroy a card. Rarely your opponent loses 2 monsters but gains a random monster from your Extra Deck. This effect is much better than "Question", and harder because the Extra Deck is private so the opponent couldn't even try to remember what it might be. There's an activation restriction but no Cost. In all, overpowered.

You certainly do need to be creative with this one. I'll go for the top and bottom pictures with this attempt.

    Useless Armor
    Equip Spell Card
The equipped monster gains 0 DEF.

How many attempts each are we allowed to have this time?

    Sorry for not being clear.

You are supposed to create 2 cards.

Each card is representative of 1 picture

2 cards per person should be enough for a good round of judging

I've seen other competions where that was mandatory and the number of participants was even less than here. Most people complained about the website being blocked on their internet, or it being too much effort to bother with. In this competion creativity of naming and effects is the most important part.

Nah, I was just posting it for entertainment's sake. I don't think it should be mandatory either.
