Retrained La Jinn

    Based on discussions in the Card of the day section on [ycard="SP2-EN001"]Ancient Lamp[/ycard] , please post your ideas for a retrained [ycard="SKE-009"]La Jinn the Mystical Genie of the Lamp[/ycard], or any support cards.

    First off, my idea:

    This card is treated as [ycard="SKE-009"]La Jinn the Mystical Genie of the Lamp[/ycard]. When this card is special summoned through the effect of [ycard="SP2-EN001"]Ancient Lamp[/ycard], select and resolve one of the following effects
    -draw a card from your deck
    -draw a card from your opponents deck

    This card is treated as "[ycard="SKE-009"]La Jinn the Mystical Genie of the Lamp[/ycard]" while it is in your hand or on the field. When this card is special summoned by the effect of [ycard="SP2-EN001"]Ancient Lamp[/ycard], you may send up to 5 level 4 or lower Fiend type monsters from your hand to the graveyard, and may add 1 Fiend Type monster from your deck to your hand.

    Gee, I wonder which monster THAT will be useful in bringing out. :rolleyes_

    When this card is normal summoned, flip summoned, or special summoned while [ycard="SP2-EN001"]Ancient Lamp[/ycard] is face-up on the field, you may choose one of the following effects:
    1.) You draw 2 cards from your deck and discard 1 card from your hand.
    2.) You and your opponent randomly discard a card from your opponents hand. You skip your next Draw Phase.

    Was this supposed to be a thread for newer versions of La Jinn, or are we just randomly making up genie-related cards?

    I was originally going for retrained La Jinn, but theme support cards will inevitably creep in. Lets try and keep with the La Jinn for the moment.

    This monster’s name is treated as “ [ycard="SKE-009"]La Jinn the Mystical Genie of the Lamp[/ycard]â€. Each time a monster on your side of the field becomes the target of an attack, Special Summon 1 Spellcaster-Type monster from your hand or deck into face-down Defense Position. This effect can only be used once per turn.

    Hmm, might be fun to merge a few of our favs together...

    Dark / Fiend / 5 Stars
    ATK: 2200 DEF: 1500

    This monster cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This monster cannot be Special Summoned expect by tributing 1 "[ycard="SKE-009"]La Jinn the Mystical Genie of the Lamp[/ycard]" and 1 "[ycard="SP2-EN001"]Ancient Lamp[/ycard]" on your side of the field. When a Normal Spell Card is activated, negate the effect by paying 1000 Life Points. The effect of an Effect Monster that this monster destroys as a result of battle is negated.

    That gives it just enough juice to beat over a [ycard="CRV-EN015"]Cyber Dragon[/ycard], but not enough to be considered broken, except that its conveniently a 5 star monster which opens SOOOOO many [ycard="DR1-EN038"]Metamorphosis[/ycard] and Puppet Magic of Dark Ruler options 8^D

    Dille: That's pretty cool. But shouldn't we throw in some kind of fluidity measure? Something like, "when you draw this card, if you show it to your opponent and send one card from your hand to the graveyard, you may add one [ycard="SKE-009"]La Jinn the Mystical Genie of the Lamp[/ycard] from your graveyard to your hand."

    Genies from Lamps seem to be able to provide many things- I think that we are going the right way with the summoning/drawing aspects.

    Perhaps we need some 'houri' normal monsters to summon? I don't think that [ycard="TP2-016"]Dancing Elf[/ycard] will quite suffice...

    Tribute 1 [ycard="SP2-EN001"]Ancient Lamp[/ycard] and 1 [ycard="SKE-009"]La Jinn the Mystical Genie of the Lamp[/ycard] on your opponents side of the field. Place one lamp token in your opponents spell/trap zone. When this token is destroyed, the player who destroyed the token may summon the monsters tributed for this cards effect to the field in face up attack position.

    There was always a way of shutting the genie back into the lamp, but be careful who then aquires the lamp!

    Wouldn't that be amazingly difficult to pull off?

    Call me a broken-lover, but I think something THAT difficult should have a much bigger reward. Like, you get to summon the monsters, and gain their combined ATK points worth in Life Points, and deal the same amount of damage to your opponent's LP?

    This card can only be equipped to a card with "Genie" in its name. The equipped card may attack your opponent's Life Points directly for each "[ycard="SP2-EN001"]Ancient Lamp[/ycard]" or card with "Genie" in its name that exists in your Graveyard.

    3 Wishes of the Genie
    Normal Spell
    You may activate this card only when a face up "[ycard="SKE-009"]La Jinn the Mystical Genie of the Lamp[/ycard]" exists on your side of the field. Choose one of the following effects:
    - draw 1 card from the top of your deck for each "[ycard="SP2-EN001"]Ancient Lamp[/ycard]" or card with "Genie" in its name that exists in your Graveyard
    -Discard 1 card from the top of your opponent's deck for each "[ycard="SP2-EN001"]Ancient Lamp[/ycard]" or card with "Genie" in its name that exists in your Graveyard
    -Send one "[ycard="SKE-009"]La Jinn the Mystical Genie of the Lamp[/ycard]" from your side of the field to the Graveyard to Special Summon 1 Fiend type monster from your Graveyard, regardless of summoning conditions.

    This monster can only be Special Summoned by Fusion Summon. This monster's ATK and DEF is equal to the number of cards on your opponent's side of the Field x 1000. Once per turn, you may pay 1000 LP to look at your opponent's hand. If any Spell cards exist, you may take one and add it to your hand. Send all other Spell cards in your opponent's hand to the Graveyard.

    I had some more, but I cannot remember them for the life of me.

    EDIT: What the genie would be BEFORE he gets imprisoned in the lamp.

    This card is used to Ritual Summon "Master Jinn the Commander of Magic". You must also offer monsters whose total Level Stars equal 9 or more as a Tribute from the field or your hand, and 1 "La Jinn the Mystical Genie" or "La Jinn the Magical Genie" from the field.


    Master Jinn the Commander of Magic
    DARK / Fiend/Ritual/Effect / 9 Stars / ATK 2900 / DEF 2700
    This monster can only be Ritual Summoned with the Ritual Spell Card "Deal with the Master". You must also offer monsters whose total Level Stars equal 9 or more as a Tribute from the field or your hand, and 1 "La Jinn the Mystical Genie" or "La Jinn the Magical Genie" from the field. As long as this card remains face-up on the field, your opponent cannot activate any Spell Cards.

    Wow, a very powerful ritual monster, although at a great cost- effectively 13 stars worth. Perhaps making la jinn part of the 9 star tribute would be more [ycard="PSV-EN024"]Appropriate[/ycard]?
