Would Widespeard ruin work on dragons when lord of D is face up on the field?

If i had a dragon face up on the field with lord of D and i attack with the dragon and my op actives Sakuretsu Armor does my dragon get destoryed or do i follow the ruling as Magic Cycinlders since it does alot most the same thing expect reflect the damge.
