ADVANCE FORMAT LIST EFFECTIVE SEPT 1st 2009

Can somebody explain the reasoning behind Premature Burial in the TCG? I know why it's on the banned list for OCG but leaving only Monster Reborn? Guess it's time to break out my Rope of Life's again. Then again, it only makes my Magical Stone Excavations more valuable along with Feather of the...

    Splendid Venus vs. Jinzo

Splendid Venus Card Text: All Non-Fairy-Type Monsters lose 500 ATK and DEF. The activation and effect of all Spell and Trap Cards you control cannot be negated. Player A has Splendid Venus on the field. Player B has Jinzo on the field. Question is: Can Player A activate trap cards? Curtis'...

Elemental Hero Prisma vs. Cloak and Dagger

If I activated Cloak and Dagger, declare Gladiator Beast Beastari and my opponent summons Elemental Hero Prisma and sends Beastari to the graveyard for it's effect- will Prisma be destroyed? My thinking is that the effect of the card being treated as the same name as the card sent to the...

    Magical Thorn and Needle Worm

Does the effect of Needle Worm discarding the top five cards of the deck count towards damage inflicted by Magical Thorn? I argued that since the cards are not in your hand when Needle Worm's effect resolves, then Magical Thorn cannot inflict damage. Was I right or did I get cheated by a...

    Batteryman Micro-cell effect.

So, in this instance, Batteryman Micro-Cell, if attacked while face down, would still get it's second effect of drawing one card if destroyed by battle and sent to the graveyard, correct?
  14. H

    Batteryman Micro-cell effect.

Yes. The second effect activates when the card is sent to the graveyard. Again, the resolution of the second effect is dependent on the card being sent to the graveyard and not being removed from play.

    Batteryman Micro-cell effect.

Resolve the card's FLIP effect first. Then, at the end portion of the damage step, when the card is sent to the graveyard, resolve the second effect and draw one card. You cannot, however, resolve the second effect of Micro-cell if the card is not sent to the graveyard but removed from play...

yugioh cards that force opponet 2 attack

Two of the cards that I can think of are Volcanic Doomfire and Evil Hero Malicious Fiend. Both card effects force the opponent to attack that one particular card during their Battle Phase. Evil Hero Malicious Fiend is the better of the two in that all of your opponent's monster must be turned...

    Yubel 1st & 2nd forms

The answer to your question is in the text for both cards- "when this face up attack position card is attacked by your opponent's monster." This strictly implies that it is your opponent attacking during their Battle Phase and not you attacking their monster. This is a turn-based effect and...

    Moving Targets ???

Raigeki Break targets the card at time of activation after the cost is paid. Regardless of whether Book of Moon flips the card face down, the card would still be destroyed. The only time the effect would fizzle is if the card in no longer on the field. Example: Player A activates Raigeki...

Emergency alteration of the Advanced format lists in May?

I think DAD needs to be limited to one. The others aren't that big a deal and still easy to control but special summoning 3 DADs at one time hurts anyone.

    Few questions

Even though Gearfried is face down when he is tributed and although you are not flip summoning or flipping the monster face up on the field, you still show the card to your opponent before "depositing" the monster in the graveyard to show that the requirements are being met for Release Restraint.
