After going over the list of the boosterset following TAEV, which is Gladiator's Assault, I've noticed that the potential of the Aliens will become tournamentworthy. Not only more spells and traps that support the theme will be released, but also 2 new (beatstick) Aliens will make their grand entrance into the dueling circuit. Therefore, I thought is was time to slap together a tournamentworthy deck. So here's a first decklist, which is susceptible for changes
. So yes, please rate and fix. I really want to make this deck 'invade' the tourneys
.
Monsters: 18
1x Alien Mother
1x Cosmic Horror Gangi'el
3x Alien Warrior
2x Alien Grey
3x Alien Telepath (GLAS)
1x Alien Hunter
1x D.D. Warrior Lady
2x Exiled Force
2x Cyber Dragon
2x Razor Lizard
Spells: 12
2x "A" Cell Scatter Burst
1x "A" Cell breading Device
1x Smashing Ground
1x Reinforcement of the Army
1x Heavy Storm
1x Mystical Space Typhoon
1x Brain Control
1x Snatch Steal
2x Rush Recklessly
1x Premature Burial
Traps: 10
1x Mirror Force
1x Torrential Tribute
1x Ring of Destruction
2x Trap Dustshoot
1x Mass Hypnosis
2x Brainwashing Beam
2x Snake Whistle (TAEV)
Total: 40
Ok, time perhaps for a quick elaboration of the deck. Now most people will know that the Alien cards revolve around the infamous "A" Counters. Besides their primary effect of reducing an opponent's monster(s) stats in battle they also allow some control shifting on the field via Brainwashing beam, Mass Hypnosis, Alien Hypno, etc... This leads me to believe that this not only gives the theme OTK possibilities (hence the copy of Mass Hypnosis), but also that it would do well as an aggro deck. Therefore the above decklist concentrates mainly on the more powerful Alien beatsticks such as Alien Warrior, Alien Hypno and Alien Telepath for field dominance and the control-switch possibilities. Especially the latter is of great importance. Even though Aliens can quickly generate field control soley through their sheer ATK strength, they'll probably be run over late-game if my opponent can finally get hold of a monster to tribute. Of course I'd hate to have to deal with monarchs, samurai, and so forth. The idea is to initially prevent these scenarios via Trap Dustshoot. Of course they won't always be around, especially not late-game. That's where the Brain Control, Enemy Controller, Mass Hypnosis, Brainwashing Beam and Alien Hypnos come in. Basically, by producing a constant stream of "A" counters, I should be able to generate an advantage by either weakening my opponent's monsters or by taking control of them.
Now I've recently dumped 1 Smashing Ground and 1 Enemy Controller since I believe thet the line-up is already stabile in monster removal aspects. However, backing my beatsticks up with an additional 700ATK could very well generate or maintain the advantage. Any comments?
There are however more ways to use Aliens, which are making me doubt as to what version is best. these options entail:
#1 usage of Frost and Flame Twin Dragon (TAEV)
#2 usage of Ultimate Tyranno through Ultra Evolution Pill
#3 Usage of Alien Tribute monsters (?)
#4 Alien Burn
So as you can see, the theme defintely needs development. So I'd really be thankful if you could give me some advice about the Alien usage and more importantly, the above decklist.
Thanks in advance to everyone!
