Alright, I'm attempting something big.

It does contain some aspects of YGO. I have no concept of MTG whatsoever INTENTIONALLY. I have never played a game of MTG in my life. Now, there could accidentally be some elements of it in there.

But thank you for the kind, and very true, words.

the visual kinda resembled too much of a VS card so i moved a few things around, sorry its not the same.

the illustration is by somebody named P. Lipka so credit goes to that person.

Holy Monkey Butts! That r0XXX0rs!!!!!!1111 :D Seriously, exellent job to the guy who did this, although I'd still prefer more of a medicine capsule shape. (I once played a game called "capsules" and now I'm stuck on it)

Ok, I'm thinking of making the gameboard more relevant to the game itself. I want to give it a physical nature, as though these Creatures are actually battling. It occurs to me to give each player a second row of Creature slots. The original back row would be only for Defenders, and the new front row would be only for Aggressors. I'm not entirely sure how to work this in, but I might try some relative position effects. If that made no sense, think about "As long as this Creature is an Aggressor, the opponent cannot attack the Creature directly to the left of this Creature". Any advice on making that type of stuff into actual mechanics will be appreciated.

This is similar to the Leader abiltiy that was introduced in the Avengers set. Charcters adjacent to a Leader character get the modifier that the Leader character would give them. Of course in that game the character has to be directly to one side of the character to be considered adjacent to it. I always thought a fun idea would be to have an pwoer that affected the whole row.

So are you saying I should scrap it, because it's too much like VS? I'm thinking of adding some serious originality to it, though. Probably will take me some time...

Nice. I was thinking the A: D: H: would be vertical (landscape vs. portrait-type deal) and have another vertical Capsule on the left containing the Element/Species.
-pssvr

No, I like where the capsule is. It's the TEXT that I wanted vertical, you know, to align with the capsule.
-pssvr

Text verticle. Will the characters be verticle as well, or will they remain horizontal...

Ahem, very hard to read, sir. I meant for the text to be <turn your head sideways> Like this! </turn your head sideways>. So vertical text, vertical characters.

I don't know how serious you are about this, but as The Advocate, I would be willing to assist you in any copyright or trademark issues you may encounter (and you will definitely encounter them if you take a step towards publication).

Sorry, this guy hasn't been a member for at least a few months now. You might have noticed the thread is over a year old.

I got yelled at once for reviving threads that were too old. It can prove confusing for people to read the old writings if ideas or facts have changed (such as old rulings or a discussion on the April 05 banned list). But there would have been no way to start a new thread about this.

I'm not trying to be rude or mean or anything, but it probably isn't best to revive threads that are this old. The information should be considered 'expired'.

Well, that initial incednt where you revived a thread was a miscomuncation on our part. We don't mind if you bump old threads, as long as there is a good reason for it. For example, you'll notice the mods might periodically bump an old rules question if the information is now out of date, or an old question might not have previously recieved an answer due to lack of info at that time. That makes sense, since most forums drum it into peoples heads to do a search before asking a question. Well, how can there question be answered correctly if our archived information is out of date? These are reasons why we allow it.

But yeah, you'll notice this member is currently banned on top of it being a dead topic. Like I said, there's no rule against it, and we've encouraged it with regard to rulings threads, but there should always be a good reason to do so.
