Atarashii Gakko no Leaders

About a month or so ago, the YouTube algorithm figured something out that even I did realize. That I'm actually a 13-year-old girl. Because it served up to me a few of this girl group's dance practice videos, music videos and some live streams. And now these ladies are the love of my life. I can't explain it. I'm not in their target demographic. But I've heard literally every song they've produced since 2015. They just have so much energy and charisma and genuine creativity and I can't stop watching.

Plus, and this might have a lot to do with it, I discovered them right at a huge dip in my depressive disorder. I could function for maybe a handful of hours a day, and then I'd just retreat to laying on the couch. A medication adjustment took care of that. But during that time, these ladies were one of the only things that would always make me smile, no matter how bad I was feeling.

This is their most recent video debuting the choreography for their most recent single, じゃないんだよ or JANAINDAYO. Google Translate says it means "I'm Not" and it's for an action movie they'll be making a cameo in. And if you think they're practicing barefoot because they're Japanese, apparently that is not a thing. This is just something they always do.

They dropped a video today for this song. I still like the Dance Practice video more. I've watched that a thousands times. However, I did appreciate seeing the lyrics to this were as epic as the song. Fairly often I find myself falling in love with one of their old epic tunes, and later finding out it's about hairdos or cats.

That hasn't stopped me from downloading those songs and playing them again and again, mind you. It's just I'm glad these lyrics were as epic as the song was.
