Card Trader

Well, define 'stack'? They will not form a chain of any kind. You can choose to activate 1 or none of them during the Standby Phase. If you choose to use more than one, then you simply activate and resolve their effects at separate times during the Standby Phase.

He means "stack" as in, will they add up together, for example, activating 4 will mean that the effect will apply 4 times like... 1+1+1+1 = 4.

Vs. non-"stacking" where they simply don't add anymore effect, and simply add nothing to what is already there like...1+1+1+1 = 1

I meant stack as activating more than one, say three in the same standby phase. I know there are a few cards that don't allow stacking, but right now I can't remember them...

I think he means can he activate 2 Card Traders, since you can't activate and resolve 2 Heart of the Underdogs
Sure you can use the effect of 2 Heart of the Underdogs. SEGOC. Both of their effects trigger at the same time, so you chain them.

Missing the Timing: Suppose you have 3 copies of "Heart of the Underdog" on the field, and draw a Normal Monster Card during your Draw Phase. All 3 copies of "Heart of the Underdog" immediately activate their effects, and because they activate simultaneously, they form a chain with Chain Links 1, 2, and 3. If you draw a Normal Monster card for Chain Link 3 or Chain Link 2, your copies of "Heart of the Underdog" do not activate again. This is because they are "when... you can" optional Trigger Effects, and you "miss the timing" because you drew the Normal Monster Card during a chain and not as Chain Link 1. However, if you draw a Normal Monster Card for Chain Link 1, all 3 copies of "Heart of the Underdog" will activate their effects again.
I refer you to the first ruling under Heart of the Underdog.

Stack is the wrong word for the situation. Chain is the correct word.

I meant "stack" as multiplie Command Knights or multiple A - Forces, for instance would "stack" additional attack points on the correct monsters. You can chain more than one Shrink on a monster, but the effect does NOT stack.

At the time I could not think of a better word that stack. Accumulate would probably be better.

Generally speaking, when people use the word "stack" in Yu-Gi-Oh!, their referring to when two identical card or card effects are applying "on top of" each other. Unlike some effects, that only try to do the same thing twice. Like two Cross Counters will not stack effects because they're both doing the same thing.

In the three years I've been playing this game, I've only heard one person refer to the chain as a stack, and that was a Magic: The Gathering player who was just learning this one. More often then not, when a Yugi player asks "do two of these stack" their asking if they will get the benefits of both cards, and not referring to the Magic: The Gathering mechanic.

What can I say? I was a Magic player many years ago. I still think of "Piercing Damage" as "Trample".

Me too, and I've never played Magic. "Trample" sounds better, and it was already a well-known phrase even outside the game by the time Yu-Gi-Oh! wanted a similar phrase.

Agreed. "Trample" just makes more sense. But I'm sure they wanted to distance themselves from Magic, so they wanted a different name for the same thing.

Hence the reason "Magic" cards were changed to "Spell" cards all that time ago. It would be so much easier if YGO used keywords or mechanics like MtG does instead of clumping all that card text onto each card. I've been saying that for years.
