I don't know about the rest of you, but I know I make stupid mistakes from time to time which cost me a win. At PC Atlanta, which was my first PC, I know I made 2 huge errors which led to losses. Those 2 losses put me out of Day 2. I think alot of it was do to the fact of inexperience in big tournament situations. Anyone else ever experience the so called "brain-fart" and make a play you may not have normally made lets say in a playtesting enviroment?

What do you think puts you over the edge, from a novice player to an experienced pro?

The finality of a bad decision can add an extra amount of strain in a tournament environ. The fact there is no way for you to take back what you did wrong, and added to that the fact that it cost you 20 or some odd dollars, then it makes pressure to not make a mistake that much more palpable. No one wants to pay money to do poorly, so, ironically, the pressure of that makes it more likely.

I couldn't agree more. I think I get on myself more over the idea of not winning rather than losing $20 or so. Ever notice how you never seem to play the same once youve made a costly mistake, even if you are still in the hunt? Seems like that mistake haunts you till the tourney ends.

the reason is because your in a situation that you dont know how to deal with till after you have made the incorrect move.

Ive done this often but the more I play the more I learn to see all my options.

My opponent loves playing Hand Control. I love playing Permission, so what it came down to is me making a very huge mistake.

See I can get back land resources with other cards and my opponent was forcing me to use a card that would screw them over at the right time.

i had it only in my hand.

on the board i had a way to return a resource back to my hand to be able to do the effect of the critter that just came into play.

what happend is that i didnt see the move till i put my card on the stack, as soon as i did that, i said, "Wow, that was the dumbest move i could have done."

It didnt take me after the game it took me in an instant, it triggered like a gun.

The point to all this is to see and relax and think before you make a move untill you bring down to your final options.

Eventually you will get much better at handling situations. :D
