Well, I've been looking at my old X-Men deck, and it can actually do a bit of a weenie rush. What's your opinions on Fastball Special for an X-Men deck?

I think fastball special is a great card for a weenie rush deck... There's nothing like seeing 2 1-drops take down a 6-drop, ummm like Bastion.
Also with all weenie rush decks you tend to run out of cards to play in the later turns, since most weenie deck tend to depleat cards from your hand to drop 2-3 characters a turn and playing attack pumps. So if you run out of attack pumps you can always use this card to take out the big guy then team attack the rest of the field.
A curve deck really can't use it since you probably don't want to lose 2 large attackers to stun just one character.

I've seen a curve deck run Fastball Special just fine. There are no garuntees that your always going to have two large attackers. And you can easily be stuck with little-bitties in later turns that just can't handle thier 6 to 8 Drops.

True, but why build a deck on the premise that your going to miss drops? Besides there are no guarantees that your going to get Fast Ball Special when you miss.

Fastball Special is actually a very underestimated card, it can be game breaking in some scenerios and surely in a weenie X-Men rush deck you'll see a lot of useful times for it. But even then in the end you're not dealing much damage to your opponent and they'll just come back and win in the later turns since you're only pegging for little damage and after using a Special you just exhasted two of your characters anyways.
Wouldn't be all that competitive in the current Golden Age, but I'd wait until the next X-Men set comes out in or around February before you put it together, maybe some interesting stuff from that will come and give you a helping hand.
