Webmistress, yes no?
I don't understand half the VS rulebook...it's too...official-like...XD I don't understand a lot of the stuff they are saying. Can anyone help? I'm soooo lost...I keep thinking I know the game but nope, always don't know it as well as I think I do...T_T

I just failed the VS lvl1 judge test for the 4th time...-__- It's so sad...but I dopn't understand! Wakarimasen!!! ;_; Help? XD

EDIT Btw, the main thing I don't get is threshold and recruit costs and resources...o_o

Ok. Threshold costs are those that are on Plot Twists and Locations. All Threshold costs mean is that if you want to play the card, you need to have that many resources. For example, if I have an exhausted Roy Harper on the field and 5 Resources (and 3 other exhausted characters). I play Press the Attack (which has a Threshold of 4) targeting Roy Harper. This is legal because I have 4 or more resources. Roy Harper readies and uses his effect (part of the cost is to KO a resource). I have 4 resources now. I play Press the Attack (this is legal because I have 4 Resources. Even though I already used a Plot Twist that has a cost of 4, I can play another because Threshold doesn't actually get spent. You just need that many resources available.) I use Roy Harper's effect again. I now have 3 Resources. I would like to play Press the Attack again, but I can't, because I don't have enough resources, so I can't fulfill the threshold cost.

Now Recruit Costs are based on spending Resource Points. Resource Points are generated only at the start of the Recruit Step (and any excess are removed after leaving the Recruit Step). If I have 5 Resources going into the Recruit Step, I will have 5 Resource Points. Now, when I recruit something, that costs Resource Points. So, let's say I recruit Donna Troy, which would cost me 2 Resource Points. Because Resource Points actually get spent, I have 3 more Resource Points left. I could recruit Roy Harper (who has a recruit cost of 3), but I could not recruit Garth (who has a recruit cost of 5), because I don't have 5 Resource Points left.

That help any?

the costs are simple.

lets say you dont want to swarm, just basic summon a character per turn.

just follow the numbers on the top, thouse are the recruit costs.

preaty much just look at what turn it is. If its turn 5, during your build phase you add a resource so that it is turn 5 on your side as well and then summon the cost 5 character.

character costs are reffered to drops in players terms. because you drop that character during that turn.

1 drop - Harley Quinn
2 drop - Encantadora
3 drop - Super Girl
4 drop - Bullseye
5 drop - Killer Crok
6 drop - Spiderman
7 drop - Psimon
8 drop - silver surfer
9 drop - Onslought
10 drop - Phoenix

preaty much if you dont want to swarm and just flat waste your resource points during the recruit step then just bring out the designated character. now if you want to bring out multiple characters, then its all a mater of math.

Equips do cost resource points. so lets say its turn 5 and instead of bringing out a 5 drop you prefer to bring out a 4 drop for this scenario we will say its a bulls eye, so you bring out bullseye and then you want to equip him with Either Titanum sword or Twin Fire arms, you can equip him with either or but not with both since characters can only be equipd with 1 item. so lets say we want to increase his attack instead of giving him burn, so what we do is equip him with Twin fire arms and thats it, your resource points from here on are completly spent.

or you can summon out 2 2drops and 1 1drop or 1 2 drop and 1 3 drop etc..

heck you can even summon out 5 1 drops (aslong as they arnt multiples of the same character unless its an army character.)

preaty much thats resource points and how you spend them when recruiting.

the Treshhold like dlaanan explained is preaty much the number on location's and Plot twists.

Preaty much aslong as you control enough resources to play a plot twist then your safe to play multiple plot twists with the same cost.its turn 5 again and you want to play Dark Embrace, you cant because its cost is 8 so you would have to wait till turn 8.
but lets say your the attacker and have 4 path of destruction, then you can play all 4 because the costs for path of destruction is 2, yes when you summon it all up its going to be 6 but since plot twists and locations are only looking towards how many resources you control then its fine. you can spend 10 cost of 2 plot twist and you wont be doing anything bad because you control more than 2 resources.

and thats preaty much it. :D
