Has anyone seen the trailers for this new series? Generally speaking, I watch NBC like I get a prostate exam. Only as often as necessary. But this new series looks different. I hope they don't WB-affy it like they did Roswell and everything else genre that came out after Buffy and Angel became hits. This looks really intriguing. After you watch the trailer, watch the little thumbnails to the side as well with more trailers and behind the scenes stuff. I haven't looked forward to a series this much since Voyager. It looks very ambitious. This has potential to be another great series. We're about due for another one, I'd say.

Yeah, this looks really interesting. Without trying to sound blasphemous, it looks like they're trying to take X-Men but make it a little more modern day as to what happened to them or what they're gonig to do. No huge robots or anything like that. Should be interestitng.

Yeah, it looks like a very real-world take on super powers. Similar to what J. Michael Straczynski (Babylon 5 creator) did with his comic Rising Stars. That was a very realistic take on superheroes, although it was like B5 in that it was one complete storyline.

Did you see the Asian dude who concentrates and the clock turns back? I like how they did that, cause that's a dangerous power creatively speaking. Overdone and it comes off as cheesy. But it looks like he really has to work for it. Plus, I like the painter who paints the future. But my favorite has got to be the cheerleader. :D

Yes, I'm defintely looking forward to this show! I feel the same way though - I hope it doesn't come off all cheesy and thrown together. It really does look interesting though.

And another means of watching Hayden Panettiere (the cheerleader) is OK with me :D Mama mia!

SPOILER ALERT! SPOILER ALERT!

I, too, was impressed. The Japanese guys were a nice bit of comic relief, what with their many Star Trek references. Sadly, the numerous previews showed most of the best parts of the episode but....
I liked how they're bringing everyone together... slowly. Somehow, they're all interlocked. At first, it seemed like it would just be a collection of separate stories, but it appears there will be villians, and even more heroes, and even a disastrous event they will need to prevent. This show looks promising. I hope it doesn't disappoint.

Highlight to read Spoilers:

Agreed. And I like how everyone has a different perspective on their powers. Each one understands what's happening to them in varying degrees.

Hiro is more like I would be if I new something was happening to me. I'd be all ready for it.

On the other hand the cheerleader knows exactly what's happening to her, and doesn't really know what to make of it.

The painter is dealing with it the only way he know how. With drugs.

The web cam girl has no earthly idea what's going on, and neither do we really, and I her predicament is really the only one with the least bit of benevolence.

And the brother had his ability all wrong. That was a curveball I didn't really expect. I new there was a connection there, but I expected something different. Looks like they might be a variation on the "Wonder Twin" type characters.

Now my only question is, is this Japanese guy goign to be able to get back to Japan? lol

I wholeheartedly agree with post number seven. My favorite parts were Hiro, and the blonde girl, witht he regen powers stickin her hand in the cutting thingy in the sink(I can't remember the name of that thing ta save my life...)

I like the 'Wonder Twin' idea. If you recall, the brothers are connected. The younger one knew the older one was injured (in the past). I'd say he's telepathicly linked to him. But yes, that definitely was a twist what happened with them...

I can't wait until next week!

Oh yeah...and it's called the Garbage Disposal. I wouldn't think a food processor(aka Blender) would be in your sink...lol.

here's something I was wondering: Does the blonde girl feel the pain, or is it non existant. All throughout the show when she was hurt, she didn't show any signs of pain.

No, it's called the Food Processor. That's where I mix my Margaritas. :dur :dur :dur Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go dry my hair in the Microwave. <Sticks head in fridge>

It looks like she's impervious to the pain. I think if it hurt as bad as it should, she wouldn't have thrown herself off that building 6 times, nor stuck her hand in the Foo --er, Garbage Disposal so carelessly.

heheh, I've mixed margarita's in an icecream maker. oh, I was going to say something...

Does it come on the same time next week? or was this just a special timing for it?

Website says it's going to be Mondays at 9 pm. That's cool for me, cause it means I won't have to tape CSI Miami.

You can also watch tonight's episode online already. That was fast:

Plus they have an online comic drawn by Tim Sale. That guy is gritty.

It seems like there was some brief pain. She seemed to wince a bit once she jumped into the fire, but then again, that could have been her looking around and trying to focus.

My wife and I liked it a lot. My father in law, who typically doesn't go for those kind of things, actually sat around and watched the rest of the episode (he got in I'd say mid way). That might be a sign he'll be watching it too.

I'm a little worried that they are going too overboard with the destiny thing. I like how they're slowly coming together, and I like how they are linking the characters in odd ways (the "fly boy" that is the nurse to the fortune telling artists girlfriend type thing) but did you see the previews for next week? There's a comic book about Hiro already out? Unless its done by the art guy, I'm afraid they may be makeing too much destiny in the mix and that can start to get dull if you ask me.

But we're SO making sure the TV is hooked up at the new house by next Monday night!

I think they hinted at him being the artist for it, but i ain't a hundred percent on that.

She didn't have much of a problem pushing her ribs back into her body.

I would vote no on pain (or at least a high tolerance), but yes on being squemish on figuring everything out.
