Greetings, duelists! I've decided to start a weekly deck-building concept where I will build a deck entirely out of commons. While I understand it's not a new concept, hopefully it will encourage some of you to try new ideas and use cards you may have otherwise overlooked.
Decks will be built for the current Advanced format exclusively, though I may do a Traditional deck for fun once in awhile. Consider it "deck-building on an extreme budget." I'll be doing this every Friday, just in time for your weekend tournaments. Show off for your friends, and let them know you just beat them without a single rare card. (Note: a good bit of these cards might have a rare version, but if it's been released as a common in some form or another, it's fair game)
I'll start off with a Chaos Necromancer deck. Keep in mind this is just my take on it. I encourage all of you to add in your ideas, but remember: we're doing this with all commons.
Count (40):
Monsters (21):
Great Maju Garzett x2
Thunder Dragon x3
Non-Tribute Monsters:
Cannon Soldier
Chaos Necromancer x2
Giant Germ x3
Gravekeeper's Spy x2
Mystic Tomato x3
Night Assailant
Sangan
Snipe Hunter x2
Spirit Reaper
Spells (12):
Book of Moon
Creature Swap x2
Heavy Storm
Instant Fusion x2
Metamorphosis
Mystical Space Typhoon
Nobleman of Crossout
Swords of Revealing Light
Traps (7):
Call of the Haunted
Dust Tornado x2
Sakuretsu Armor x3
Torrential Tribute
Fusion Deck:
Dark Balter the Terrible x2
Deepsea Shark x2
Fiend Skull Dragon x2
Kaminari Attack x2
Pragtical x2
As you can see, you'll want to thin your deck with Tomato searches, Giant Germs, and Thunder Dragons (which also serve as discard fodder for Snipe Hunter). There is also a couple nice things you can do with Instant Fusion: pay the 1000, get one of your Fusions, then tribute it for Great Maju Garzett, or Morph it into one of your other Fusions.
Have fun! And let me know if you tried this out and how it did.
