Looking Ahead 9 - Armityle

This card earns the distinction of being THE single hardest card to properly summon in the ENTIRE card game. Yes, you'll have better odds on bringing out Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth. You'll have an easier time winning with Destiny Board. Ok, the Anime gives it more support cards to at least give it a fighting chance, but even if they are made for real, they'd liked be nerfed. Who cares though, let's dust off all those "big" Shadow of Infinity cards that many wanted at the time and then promptly forgot about.

Chaos Phantom - Armityle
Dark/Fiend/12/0/0
[Uria, Lord of Searing Flames + Hamon, Lord of Striking Thunder + Raviel, Lord of Phantasms]
This card can only be Special Summon from Fusion deck by removing the above cards from the game from your field (the card Polymerization is not required). This card cannot be destroyed as result of battle. During your turn, increase the ATK of this face-up card on your side of the field by 10000 until then end of your turn.

Where From: Limited Edition 10, Chaos Black Pack (Pack 1)
Likely TCG Appearance: Shonen Jump Magazine (As some promo deal)

Yes, that's right. A Fusion of the 3 Sacred Beasts. All you need is to somehow get these 3 Nomis to the field. Ok, so maybe you can design some oddball Crystal Beast Deck + DNA Surgury (declare Fiends!) so this way you can tribute the Monsters for Raviel, the "destroyed" Monsters for Hamon, and fill in the gap with a couple of other Continuous Traps to lastly squeeze out Uria and...

Oh whatever. Ok, it can't be destroyed by battle and during your turn its ATK is increased by yes TEN THOUSAND (10000). To paraphrase Baron when he reviewed this card, "Never mind all that, the effect should just say 'If this card is Successfully Summoned, you win the Game.'"

Fine, you want a practical use? You can Metamorphosis him into a Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon...

Ok, I know I'm stretching, but the mere fact that this card exists makes me giddy. I don't care that it's beyond ridiculous to get out. That alone makes it worthy to try. Fun deck players and Collectors will view this as a must-have card.
The Sacred Beasts need to get some love after all.

Not even going to bother giving it a rating.

Unfortunately, a weakness this card shares with many other monsters that are hard to get out, is monster destruction. Armityle only has protection against battle destruction, NOT from any other kind.

However, the non-Nomi status of this card (assuming the translation is right) means you can Special Summon it right back, which we all know is easy enough to achieve. Pulling out a 10,000 ATK monster with a single card (albeit after all the effort of getting it out in the first place) is a fearsome effect. There are very few cards that can match such power (I'm thinking Tyranno Infinity, which is much easier to set up, but doesn't have the battle destruction immunity).

I agree with densetsu_x, though, in that this card doesn't need a rating. Even Gate Guardian is easier to summon, as we all know how often he's used. Valkyrion the Magna Warrior, even. Heck, Moisture Creature is as scarce as they come. Armityle (sounding like a pokémon) will simply never be played, at least not successfully.

If the Fusion Material Monsters could come from the hand as well, that would be great. Armityle isn't the strongest monster around, despite having a power level of over 9,000 to start off with. There are so many counters to it it's pointless listing them; but you know what they are. So it's not as though allowing the Fusion Material Monsters to come from the hand would make this card broken; not in the slightest.

Halfway through that last paragraph, I realised Armityle's effect was more like Satellite Cannon than Banner of Courage. I was under the impression its ATK dropped to 0 again during the opponent's turn. Silly me. Yes, after a couple of turns you can have a 30,000 ATK monster. Hefty, although as I said before there are ways around it.

Actually, I could see it going either way (like Satellite Cannon and simply gaining the boost until the end of turn). I'll go double check it and adjust accordingly.

The thing that makes it more playable in the Anime and such are the other support cards (that wasn't made yet) that allowed you to both search for Sacred Beasts out of your deck and Reborn them to the field (though likely if we get the latter card I can almost guarentee that it will include "must be properly summoned first").

It uses 3x Nomies on the field that's all REALLY REALLY hard to summon to get a monster that's even more stupid and useless then the 3... Literally the hardest monster in YGO history to summon, and it doesn't have immediate win condition, BAD. IMO, an Exodia or Victory Dragon OTK is easier then this.

actually
i used to run a really good armityle deck before i switched to a synching deck
all 3 sacred beasts

its actuall not as hard as you think
i've managed to pull him out a few times and whip soem serious butt
