Don't fear da Reaper
This is my stepson's beast deck. He has asked me for help but in truth, I know nothing about beasts. I made some suggestions but there are other cards he insisted on having. So any input/comments/ratings/fixes/no flaming allowed.

let the man with a panda deck through ok some thoughts on beasts is that you don't have to invest much money on the cards in the deck really. ok first get some Enraged Battle Oxes they give trample to any beast,beast-warrior, or winged beast.if your gonna play the panda use the card Ojama Trio and and Final Attack Orders.
also try Rescue Cat,Wild Nature's Release,Gaia Power, gaint rat... you know what give me a day and i'll get you a great beast deck that you can use as a template what do you say?

actually, don't worry about that. He likes to build 70 card decks. That's why I'm asking for help. I sorted through some of the beasts but like I said, they are not my forte. Give me Zombies any day of the week.

well i'm kinda like dillie-o and like fiends but i'm kinda what do you call it..... oh yeah a deckbuilder of all trades.

Well, you really can't beat a Dillie O fiend deck. He definately has influenced a lot of decks out there (even one of my fiend decks).

This one works exeedingly well. It purposly had 45 cards so that you are less likely to get doubles of Hyenas and nimbles.

Okay, looking over the suggestions, I see a lot of good ideas. One problem I'm going to run into is not having some of the cards at this time. I'll probably do some trades for him so he can get what will work the best for his meta. So this is what I think might work for him, please comment/fix/rate.

I like what you're doing, although teching in two Des Wombats seems excessive. Maybe drop one for another Enraged Battle Ox, and try a second Manticore over a second Big Tusked Mammoth. BTW, I'd really like to rent the space in your sig. PM me.

take out all the anti burn.

when it comes to beast you have to play aggro.

seriously, and dont use by any means necesarry vanilla cards.

you wont need it, there are better beast out there. one really good winged beast is the PHoenix and one good Beast - Warrior is Exarion.

if you do decide on using wild natures rease use it on exarion with that 1900 defense you know he can get preaty big, preaty fast. the phoenix becomes a 4000 attacker that will eventually return anyways.

Hello my two cents is to switch out the Big tusked Mammoths for something better like a second Manticore for one. There isn't a lot of great tribute beasts to choose from but 2 Manticores and 1 Behemoth King is plenty although you could throw in a Jinzo if you have it he pretty much goes in any deck other than burn type. Also, leave out 2-Milus and 1 berzerk in favor of 3 Vorse Raiders Beast Warrior type. Also take out the Des Wombat in favor of a third Mad Dog.
When you get them of course.

Cutting back on tribute monsters is the first step when restructuring a kids deck, I've found .

I help run a local kids tournament here in Arlington and convincing them to put aside Blue Eyes or Dark Magicians can be difficult.

Ultimately, I wind up asking them if they would prefer to play their favorites or if they would rather win.

9 out of 10 say they want to win. and of the Kids decks I have changed not one has complained after actually using it.

In fact I put together a deck for a couple of the moms to play their sons and 1 boy came back mad at me and said "You made my Mom's deck better than mine" LOL

Still some kids have die hard favorites and you just have to go with them. After awhile they see the other kids decks that win consistantly and they start converting there own decks and as they get better they come up with ideas that are better than mine. I really have to stay on my game to beat the kids at our store. Some of the 7 and 8 year olds are tournament ready and I mean Adult tournament ready.

Anyway back on point by taking out some tributes you eliminate things like Tribute Doll and free up space for extra kills like Smashing Ground, or Lightning Vortex and extra power ups like Rush Recklessly or Axe of Despair. these are examples you can use what you have and what you like Fissure, Mask of Weakness
also fall into this catagory.

Ground Collapse should probably go aswell if you can get them Torrential Tribute or Magic Cylinder would be much better alternates

I would also, take out the 2 Gaia Power(and or Terra Forming) in favor of things that help just you and not your opponent. I have an earth deck and that was the first thing to go for me. For one it's not a good top deck when you have no hand.

At this point taking them and the Tribute Doll straight out cuts you to 41 cards and your deck will flow and kill faster.

An easy to find card that is under used and under appreciated is Bait Doll you should consider exchanging that for the Nobleman of Extermination.

It springs a trap and recycles itself meaning after it does it's business it goes back in your deck instead of your graveyard.

Hope these suggestions help.

Tweaking a deck is a players arena - meaning the more you play a deck, you get to see what works /what works for you. Cards can have a neat effect but if you never use it what's the point?

Bottom line test anything people tell you before you trade cards away you might decide you needed or wanted.

well here i go.here's the deck i promised you.

monsters
3x Giant Rat
3x Gyaku-Gire Panda
3x enraged battle-ox
1x Cyber Jar
2x Mad Dog of Darkness
2x pitch black warwolf
2x dark triceratops
3x Spear Dragon
1x Airknight Parshath

magic
2x Wild Nature's Release
2x Gaia Power
3x Giant Trunade
mst
Dark Hole
Snatch Steal
Premature Burial
2x Swords of Concealing Light
Heavy Storm
1x Nobleman of Extermination

traps
2x Final Attack Orders
3x Ojama Trio

side deck
2x Sakuretsu Armor
2x Waboku
3x Sonic Bird[to get through Gravity Bind]
2x Double Attack
1x Roc from the Valley of Haze
2x gyaku-guma panda
1x Scapegoat
2x Token Thanksgiving

now i took it down more a trample/beast deck that incorperates Ojama Trio for some easy cannon fodder.

Cannon?? Im not seeing it in there.... But the Trios DO go well with Gyaku-Gire Panda on the field... especially if you put it in atk mode with Final Attack Orders...

You may want to think about Ultimate Offerings too.... if you get Ojama Trio out.... and can bring out 2 Pandas and do least 2000 damage, unless you put them in attack mode... then you are doing at least 4100 damage depending on if you have other monsters on the field or not... .. could be a great finisher...

Panda has won a tourney or two for me, i totally love that card..
