Nobleman/Desert Sunlight

The recent discussion of Sakuretsu Armor and Shift have help confuse me on when a card activates whether it re-checks the activation requirements at resolution... and so I wanted to be sure if I had Nobleman of Crossout right... so...

I have set Needle Worm and Desert Sunlight
Opponent's Turn in MP1 they activate NoC targeting set Needle Worm
I chain Desert Sunlight to NoC's activation
no more links to chain

how does the chain build and resolve?

Activation conditions are so-called because they're important upon activation only. They have no bearing on resolution - if an effect will no longer work properly by the time you reach resolution (due most likely to a lack of target), the effect simply disappears. If it wouldn't work properly at activation, then that's obviously an illegal activation.

You chose a bad example, because Nobleman of Crossout's effect is what it is. The targeted face-down monster needs to remain face-down for Nobleman of Crossout's effect to work properly.

You want something like Self-Destruct Button ("You can only activate this card while you have at least 7000 fewer Life Points than your opponent."). Self-Destruct Button will still resolve properly even if a card is Chained that makes the difference less than 7000. That's because an activation condition (relative Life Points) is only important during activation.

ah, I see how I chose a bad example... the are no activation requirements... the resolution is "Destroy 1 face-down monster"... so if Needle Worm is face-up due to Desert Sunlight in my example above then NoC will have no effect. Makes sense.

But, I'd still like to see someone build the chain... it's simple but I've forgotten if Needle Worms FLIP effect goes on the current chain or starts a new chain at the resolution of the NoC -> Desert Sunlight chain.

Chain Link 1 - Nobleman of Crossout
Chain Link 2 - Desert Sunlight

Resolve:

Chain Link 2 - Needle Worm is flipped into face-up Defence Position. Its effect is triggered, and will start a new Chain once this one has finished resolving. It can't be added to the current Chain, because we're already resolving it.

Chain Link 1 - The card targeted by Nobleman of Crossout is now face-up. Nobleman of Crossout's effect disappears. Nothing happens.

New Chain - Chain Link 1 - Needle Worm

Note that since Nobleman of Crossout's effect disappears, Needle Worm is NOT removed from play, and both players' Decks are NOT searched for any other Needle Worms (this would happen normally because it's a FLIP Effect monster). The Decks aren't even touched. Needle Worm remains safely on the field in face-up Defence Position.
