the title speaks for itself.
are ojama tokens effect monsters?

along the same lines, are scapegoats/stray lambs the only tokens that aren't effect monsters, thus implying them to be 4 0/0 normal monsters

Tokens are always considered to be Normal Monsters for all effects.

Any 'effects' a Token may have are generated by the card that created the Token, and are not actual effects of that Token.

so going on a limb...

i have a victory viper, and a option token.
if i were to increase my viper's atk via axe of despair or any other targetting spell/trap/effect, the token's atk would increase as well.

thus, if my opponent were to divine wrath my token's atk adjustment, the original viper would be destroyed (as it is the one giving the viper token the effect of matching the original viper's stats), and thusly, both viper and token are destroyed, right?

Well, that's how Victory Viper XX03's effect works. The token constantly adjusts according to VV03's stats. However, your opponent could only use Divine Wrath when option 3 of VV03's effect to summon a token first activates. He could not activate it in response to a ATK/DEF modifier like Axe of Despair. The Option Token's stat adjustment is a Continuous Effect and does not use the chain.

well what i meant was, to use divine against vic viper to stop the atk gain, and destroy both.

but DJ has enlightened me as to why i was wrong.

...again.
