Ok I knew at some point this was goin to happen, since ude is kind enough to give us token cards for games like wow and yugioh.
Player scooped up and ally token card that was left out during the previous game into his deck, silly him he used the same sleves. After a couple rounds in the next game he draws his token and calls the judge over.I had to think about the penalty for a bit on this one, since ive never seen a discussion on this before. Hmm is the game intregridy damaged from leaving in an ally token? Well to begin its a new type of deck error. You can not list thim in your deck registration so thats not an error. Tokens dont exsist till something makes them exsist, but there is an extra card in his deck even thoe it is unplayable. So trying to be a good customer service rep for ude and up hold the code of being a judge I gave him this infraction it started out as a deck error -major (game loss), however since it was unplayable card I downgraded and made it a deck error -minor (warning) and explained to the players if it was any other card; as in a playable card that could give either a player an advantage (example left side deck cards in the deck) it be a game loss in the a heart beat. Thinken to myself all that it was change how cards may have been randomized at the begining of that round. So the warning was issued and he drew a card to so his deck would line up with what he should have per card drawn per rounds and suggested that all players keep ally tokens in seperate color sleves to prevent a repeat infraction.
Now some of you may not agree and thats ok. I felt this was a fair to both players at the table and kept them from being discouraged form future ude events. I would like some feed back on this on how you would handle it. Also if alex of someone could add this to the penalty guidlines with the correct infration or let me know the proper infraction that be great.
Thank you
