One randomized deck is as good as another?
from UDE's Player Management Forums

This question has to do with WoW TCG although it could be applicable to other games.
Consider this scenario in a regional or higher level event.
Rite of Vision - Quest
During your turn, pay 3 to complete this quest.
Reward: Put a Spirit Guide ally token with 1 ATK and 1 health into play. At the start of your next turn, remove that ally from the game. If you do, choose a card from your collection, reveal it, and put it into your hand.

"From your collection" in WoW refers to cards in your side deck. In this situation a player unfamiliar with this grabs a card from his deck instead, reveals it and puts it in his hand.
Other facts - there is no hidden information in this scenario. Nothing has been activated like "It's a Secret to Everybody" where the player has knowledge of the arrangement of his deck while his opponent doesn't.

How should this be resolved?

Is shuffling the offending card back into the deck and awarding a PE: Minor appropriate?

Or, is the game state irreparable because an illegal search/shuffle has been performed and thus a PE: Major is the right course?

I know some would argue one randomized deck is as good as another...
