Problem with judge who entered tournament

We had a tournament the other day at my local store. I was the only judge for the tournament. One of the players we had was also a judge. Just to clarify he entered the tournament as a player and was not added to the judge list for the tournament. I know he is a judge for sure since I've been at several regionals that he has judged at.
The problem came second round when time was called. We have two players, Player A (Judge) and Player B. Time had been called and I checked their status and they began their three turns. I had a few more tables to take care of, one of which asked me to watch their final three turns so I did that. After about 10 minutes I had finished up the tables when someone came up to me and told me that the first table was having a problem and I need to take care of it.
I went over and they had yet to fill out their match slip. Here's where we had a problem. At the end of the three turns Player B was the winner. So I asked that if they knew the winner what was the problem. This is what they told me.
Player A had decided since they had a really good game going, they should see who would have won if it wasn't for time being called. Player B said sure and they continued playing. When it was all said and done, Player A was the winner.
But this was the part I was shocked to hear. They went to fill out the slip and Player B marked himself as the winner and signed. Player A (judge) however refused to sign the slip stating that since they played the game out, he should get the win for the match, because he won the finished game. I have to admit, I was caught by suprise. I would never have expected this kind of behavior out of him.
In the end I told them that by the end of time procedure Player B was the winner and that Player A was lucky that I didn't DQ him straight out for what happened. But he continued to argue that he should get the win since the game was played out. I told him no, and that he can talk to me about it later if he wishes.
Honestly, I couldn't believe what had happened. Had it been a normal player, I might have expected it, but not someone that was as strong as a judge as this guy. My question is, what should I have done in this situation?
