Rant on mats in yu-gi-oh

With some cards released that make use of specific zones on the playfield, is there any possibility that UDE will require the use of play mats with clearly defined zones?
There are a few players in my area that would like to use decks like that, but the few times they have tried it has been a disaster - arguments over line ups of cards... and then when they wanted to bring and have opponent use a paper mat (one player even laminated one) the opponent would refuse and there was nothing that could be done and even then, just requesting an opponent to use one gives away what kind of deck they were using.
It would seem that if they are issuing cards that require zones, then all players should be required to use mats with clearly labeled zones.
