You're confusing Dark Revelations with Dark Beginnings 2, which is slated to be released in the fall. Dark Revelations only has reprints of PGD, MFC, and DCR cards.

This card wasn't that bad at the prereleases, as there were many other beasts you could use it with and Threatening Roars kept it on the field for awhile. I wouldn't reccomend it for tournament play, however.

I think you would have to use Torrential Tribute before the effect goes off, otherwise the flip summon of a monster wouldn't be the last thing to happen and you would have lost the timing to activate Torrential.
