    POTD Pre-Release

I sold my POTD to a dealer for $70, and was happy. I got 3X Mausoleum and 3X Defender from my friend though, I want to try some things out with those cards.

    POTD Pre-Release

The promo card was Hidden Soldiers. Ours went really smoothly. We've got our roles down to a science, so we get the initial push through pretty quickly, and then are able to accommodate repeat customers. We stopped advertising any "official" events other than open dueling, but we were able to...

Shonen Jump July 15th Arlington Texas!!

With my powers of stealth and guile, plus a button down shirt to wear over my judge shirt, I'm going to try and play and judge at the same time. I'll post pairings, then find my name on the list and go play. I'll need a disguise.

a little qestion on Disciple of the Forbidden Spell

He would destroy the monster without being destroyed himself. Skipping damage calculation means that he skips the part of the damage step that would destroy him in battle.

Shonen Jump July 15th Arlington Texas!!

So, now that we're a couple of weeks away, who's judging, who's playing, and who's going to stand around and look for Italian food? I'm more than likely not playing, since the Colossus stalled out. I'm still hesitant about judging though, the "average Yugioh player" is starting to drive me...

    Infinite Loop??

Well, you can't perform a loop infinite times, you can demonstrate the loop, then choose a number of times to perform the loop, but it must be a finite number. However, in the loop demonstrated in the original post, the loop becomes an infinite loop upon resolution with no way for the turn...

    convulsion of nature+archfiends oath

If you went to a table to make a ruling, that situation came up, and you said something like that to the player, you'd never judge one of my events again.

    Infinite Loop??

I don't think so in that case, I think Brain Control only targets once, as opposed to Snatch Steal, which continues to target.

    convulsion of nature+archfiends oath

Same goes with Archfiend's Oath. You can play it to the field, but activating its effect is a once per turn ability.

    Infinite Loop??

Cyber Phoenix only affects monsters on your side of the field, so it wouldn't stop Snatch Steal from targeting Machine King until Machine King switched sides.

    Infinite Loop??

Well, but the rules state that you can't activate a card if it would cause an infinite loop. I'm pretty sure that would stop Snatch Steal from being activated at all, even if you were going to put other cards on the chain that would keep it from resolving. For example, you have Spell...

    convulsion of nature+archfiends oath

Well, I could definitely play Archfiend's Oath to the field at any time, since it's a continuous spell with no timing issues. However, when you pay the 500 LP to activate the effect, it puts the entire "name a card, look at the top card of your deck" part of the effect on the chain. The second...

    convulsion of nature+archfiends oath

The reason was to get an answer on a card ruling. Do you go up to players during a tournament and refuse to give a card ruling because you think they've already lost that game? The question was "can I do X under condition Y", that's all the explanation needed.
  14. B

    Infinite Loop??

Yeah, looks like it to me. Can't activate it.

    Awesome, thanks guys.

    convulsion of nature+archfiends oath

The deck puts 30+ cards in the graveyard, establishes an 8000 LP difference between theirs and the opponent's LP, then sets Blasting the Ruins and Life Equalizer and activates them in the opponent's Draw phase, winning the game. If you aren't going to answer the question, just go away dude.

    convulsion of nature+archfiends oath

Unless you're playing Vincent Tundo's OTK from Nats, and you need to lower your lifepoints to pull off the combo.

    convulsion of nature+archfiends oath

Okay, question that I should know. Can you pay 500 for Archfiend's Oath when you have no more cards in your deck? The first line just says that you're paying the 500 to name a card, but since there's no way to resolve the rest of the effect, you'd think that you wouldn't be able to.

Good Guys with Fate Artifacts are going to be huge. Actually, pretty much anything with Fate Artifacts is going to be huge.

BTH being activated after TP announces he wants to proceed to BP

Then, if the game doesn't care, then why all the ruckus about it. There's no "successive passes" rule like VS, so it really doesn't matter. At that point, it's up to the judge to make a ruling based on that specific situation, and a lot of the time, it'll be a judgement call, so no ruling from...
