Well, this goes back as far as Pharaoh's Servant. The oldest card I can think of that redirected battle damage was Fairy Meteor Crush (when you equip it on a monster of your opponent, that is ;) ). If you don't count that one, then Amazoness Swords Woman is indeed the oldest ^_^

It is not treated as a monster if it's an Equip Spell Card... Otherwise you could tribute it for a tribute summon ;)

What did you rule? That the opponent still got the damage or that he wouldn't? The answer would be that he wouldn't get damage, because Des Wombat let all damage by card effects become 0, not only effect damage. Or is it that Dimension Wall cannot be activated because of Des Wombat's effect...

You're right about that, but 1 card they really screwed up was Card of Sanctity... The manga/anime version was pretty broken (especially in Exodia decks), but they could've changed it to a max of 4 cards in the hand, or something like that. The current Card of Sanctity is just useless, unless...
