Ironically, Maruno's still correct. Face-down monsters are considered unknowns. They have no type, effect, attribute, or ATK and DEF. This is a basic mechanic of the game. The fact that Konami decided to make a few cards that can ignore that mechanic doesn't make it less of a mechanic itself.
