Elemental Hero Wildheart and Deck Devastation Virus

I know that this is an old thread, but I didn't want to make a new one to ask a similar question. If Wildheart is facedown on the field when DDV goes of, he would be destroyed by DDV, correct?

Monsters with "?" for ATK are treated as having an ATK of zero for this effect, while they are in the hand or face-down.
This would show FD monsters do not have effects when they are checked by DDV, so you are correct.

Face-down monsters don't have effects anyway, though. A face-down Elemental Hero Wildheart would be affected (and destroyed) by Deck Devastation Virus.

Right, what I meant was that ruling proves when you "check" for DDV you DON'T flip the monsters and their effects aren't activated.

Ironically, Maruno's still correct.

Face-down monsters are considered unknowns. They have no type, effect, attribute, or ATK and DEF. This is a basic mechanic of the game. The fact that Konami decided to make a few cards that can ignore that mechanic doesn't make it less of a mechanic itself.

Ok, lets take it down this neverending who's right who's wrong road again Jason, since this seems to be what you enjoy doing the most these days........

By making a blanket statement that face-down monsters don't have any effects is NOT a true statement BECAUSE of the fact that both "Big Shield Gardna" and "Mid Shield Gardna" actually DO have an effect while face-down. The fact they are exceptions is what is irrelevant to that blanket statement.

Simply adding an 'almost' or an 'except' statement would make it more true. He did neither, nor initially said neither, so I took it upon myself to 'correct' his incorrect blanket statement, and in a joking manner at that.

Actually, I was just spamming a thread with some needless troll about how inconsistant Konami is. >_>
