For my 1,300th post, I not only am changing my avatar to Hino-Kagu-Tsuchi, but posting my long time in the making deck based around him and other FIRE monsters with high ATK's. Sort of. I want to see what you guys think of it, any suggestions you want to make, etc., etc.? I haven't playtested it yet, and I actually still need two Hino-Kagu-Tsuchis to make it (that'll happen though... *cough, tradethread, cough*), but I think it'll fair pretty well. If there are any cards in here that you don't understand or want to take out, please tell me. There's a reason for every card so... :D Without further ado:

You know, I was toying around with getting HKT into a deck, but not in the way you have (Man, I love this new format). I like this, and I like it a lot.

I know others will suggest Soul Exchange... if you're going for more burn, you might consider it. If not, then don't bother. But would something like Snatch Steal/Brain Control help with Hino when a Flame Ruler isn't available?

Just something to chew on...

Setting Hino is still effective.....

Yeah, but with that there's always the chance for Nobleman, Mystic Swordsman LV2, etc. And it's a giveaway. When you set monster that requires two tributes, usually your opponent is gonna be more cautious/suspicious... Or at least in my experience that's what happened.

Okay...:

Curiousity? Well, that curiousity would indeed work the first time it happens, but after that... Umm... it won't happen. :D

Jath - Much appreciated. I'll make those changes right away, actually.

Also - I'm a-thinking of incorporating a Meteorain to ensure Hino can get some damage in regardless... Is that a good idea? I'm sure it'll work occasionally, but I mean... It's a kinda meh idea as of yet.

Or you could try Big Bang Shot. Which can double defensively when used on your opponent's monsters.
I've also contemplated that, but there are a few reasons why I prefer Meteorain:

a) It can be a bluff card.
b) It applies to all monsters for a turn, so if Hino has a few friends on the field, they can do some damage.

But Big Bang Shot is good too... I just don't like equips too much. (Except Snatch and Premature, since they don't depend on your field too much)

i was wondering why do you have Return from the Different Dimension?

i really dont see a reason for it, but

if you want to make your Backfires go on crazy you can pop some Fox Fires and a Light of Intervention.

not only does this work in your favor. becuase you run absolutely no flip effect monsters, it combos well with Backfire.

Fox Fire will have to get beat up if your opponent wants to sock you up. not to mention they wont give up and return during the end phase. of course you cant tribute them but as a small line of burn defense, its a thing you may want to think about.

actually im going to work on a deck my self too. :)

If you are bluffing how much more useful would Meteorain be? Add an Iron Blacksmith Kotetsu to the deck and a Big Bang Shot and you've got 1) Another Fire monster for Baseball Kid, 2) A great way to get your favorite Equips, and 3) fun monster removal when you have Giant Trunade, nothing says cruelty quite like bouncing their defenses off the field while simultaneously removing their monster from the game and then equipping Hino to knock everything out of their hand with some lovely +500 piercing damage. :)

If Hino goes off once and hits a half-decent hand size, the advantage swing you get from that should be enough to win the game.

I'm not sure everyone is clear on things...

Return from the Different Dimension is in there because Infernal Flame Emperor, Spirit of Flames, and Inferno all remove monsters from play.

In turn, Spirit of Flames and Inferno are in there for added burn, power, and their ability to be Special Summoned, which will come in handy when summoning Hino-Kagu-Tsuchi, Thestalos, and Emperor. Now do my ideas make a *little* more sense? ;)

I've contemplated Big Bang Shot over and over, and then I decided that it wouldn't be bad idea. Sadly, I don't have one, but when I do get one, I'll be sure to put it in instead of Meteorain.

Chaosruler - What I'm saying is that that trick will only work on the same person once. Or multiple people if they're watching. ^.^

I have also since updated the decklist a bit to some of your suggestions and some of my own ideas and preferences. Personally, after playtesting, I found that Backfire is horrible topdeck and is pointless most of the time, and Ultimate Baseball Kid in threes is a bad idea without the stall aspect incorporated in. In twos it's a ton better. You'll also notice in the decklist itself, Big Bang Shot is listed and Meteorain isn't, but in actuality, it's the opposite.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone.
