A slow, steady burn... version 2.0

Okay, I'm gonna be brutally honest -

I only sort of get it. I know that the goal is to get Cannon Soldier, DMoC, Dimension Fusion, and Spell Economics, but a three-four card combo? I know that you can search most of them out and such, but... I guess it works pretty well, though. :D

Isn't there a card that lets you search out continuous Spells? Or something? Not that that'd be a good idea, though - not good top-deck.

The only card I think is a *tad* misplaced is Cyber Jar. Recently, I've been seeing that more often than not, it doesn't help or you draw it when you have a crucial card on the field, but I guess that really isn't a problem here. ;)

Actually, I guess I do get it. Nevermind. Forget my *counts* second sentence. ^.^ It's a pretty nice deck, now that I think about it. Thumbs up! d--^^--b

hmm.... why not try the Chaos Sorceror dude.... he can remove the DMoC that hits the GY, then work out your combo....

i dunno. just a suggestion.

I gotta say, I REALLY like the D. D. Designator idea. I get a free look at my opponent's hand so I know if he can stop the OTK. It hurts that it's a random card that I would have to discard. Though if I activated it with only 1 card in my hand... ;)

Chaos Sorcerer is another interesting idea. Though it seems it would take away from the speed of the deck. Could work though. Back burner idea...

I'm a little skeptical on Magical Merchant, only because I have so many Spells. If the first card I pick up is a Spell, it doesn't help anything. Reasoning and Monster Gate may be my best bets, but even them I'm not completely sold on yet.

I'm not sure why Giant Trunade is considered "unnecessary." Clearing the field of anything that would prevent me from running the loops seems very necessary. What other spells would you consider "unnecessary?"

3 Cannon Soldiers along with a Toon version may be a bit of overkill. I'll have to test with less. I agree though that adding things like Giant Germ, Nimble Momonga, or Hyena would help Magical Merchant a bit more perhaps. But then that's just to speed through, which I already have anyway.

I don't know what to do...

When I say Giant Trunade is unnecessary, I don't mean it is bad. I'm just saying, if you could get rid of a lot of spells, and replace them with monsters that gave you field presence, you'd have:

1) Stalling
2) Thinning
3) A lot of monsters to sac for Toon Cannon Soldier, if you can't necessarily get the OTK
4) A very good reason for using Magical Merchant

Ideally, a duel would go like this: Play Toon Table of Contents, searching TToC, then another, then TCS. Set Magical Merchant. Opponent attacks it, and you pick up a whole lot of cards (including DMoC) before finally getting to a spell, which is either Dimension Fusion, or Spell Economics. Next turn, you combine that with the fourth card in your hand, and pull off an OTK.

Now I know that is really ideal, but it could work.

I think what pssvr's trying to get at is this idea:

Have your only spells be Spell Economics x3, Dimension Fusion x3, and Toon Table of Contents x3. No traps.

Have the rest of your deck be monsters including Toon Cannon Soldier/Cannon Soldier combinations, Magical Merchant x3, Dark Magician of Chaos, probably Sangan and Magician of Faith. Or something.

Now as enticing as that sounds, it has flaws what with the prospect of maybe having the strategy fail which could result in you losing...

Or, pssvr's NOT trying to get at that and I just kind of gave you a new idea. :D

Right. Well, maybe not ALL the unnecessary spells and traps, perhaps keep some staples like swords or the Card Destruction. And what I'm getting at is not trying to pull an FTK, that was just an example. I'm trying to say that Magical Merchant can really power through a lot of cards. Just make sure not to set MM until you've gotten all the TToC and TCS out of your deck, or else there will be issues.

I feel like I should get a Book of Moon in here with all the flip-effects I have. Maybe swap out a Trunade for it.

What does everyone think of Card of Sanctity to get DMoC out of play without ever having to summon him? Or Embodiment of Apophis to help summon him when needed?

I'm starting to wonder if 3 Reloads is 1 too many. I'm not sure how essential they are.

I like the ideas you guys are tossing around, but I feel that if I add more monsters then I'm not really working towards the intended goal. If I'm misunderstanding something, I'm sorry and feel free to straighten me out. But I think I'm leaning more towards either Reasoning or Monster Gate...

My biggest concern with this new version is the low number of monsters and thus having little to no field presence. My fear is that if I can't pull the combo off in either the 1st or 2nd (3rd, at the latest) turn, then I'd be screwed.

Also, I worry that I'll speed through the deck so fast that I'll pass up the Dimension Fusions and Spell Economics, which are obviously crucial to the combo.

Any thoughts?
