Book of Moon and Flip Summons

I would like some clarification on a point of contention amongst those that I play against.
I have a flip effect monster like man eater bug, face up in attack mode when my turn begins.
During main phase I flip it face down by using book of moon.

Can I then flip summon man eater bug?

I say no as man eater bug has changed possition (from attack to defence by BoM), but others say it can still be flipped.

Thanks IrnBruDrinker

if the man eater bug was in atk when you used book of moon on it then no. book of moon would switch the man eater bug from atk to def and would stop any manual changes you could do that turn for that monster (if a monster has had it's position changed once in a turn a manual postion change can not be conducted)

if the man eater bug were face-up def however and bom were used on it then you may still flip summon it (bom flipping it from face-up def to face-down def does not constitute a position change and as such the monster may still have a manual position change)

Please not when i reffer to "manual position change" i am reffering to the act of changing a monster's battle position without the use of card effect

Just think of it this way:

The first position change can be by card effect or manually. Any position change after the first MUST be by card effect. If the card has already changed battle position once that turn, you cannot do any more manual changes that turn, whether or not the first one was manual. In effect, the first battle position change is the only chance you get to do it manually. Once that battle position change is done, your manual change is "used up."
