I'll keep this short :), basically I'd like to know if anyone could give me a sample chainburn decklist. It's a strategy I'd like to try sometime but I need something to work with :).
Thanks in advance

Not an expert in the Chain Burn field, but here's what one know:

1 x Morphing Jar
3 x Mech Dog Marron
3 x Elemental Hero Bubbleman

3 x Chain Strike
3 x Tremendous Fire
3 x Poison of the Old Man
2 x Wave Motion Cannon

3 x Chain Detonation
3 x Secret Barrel
3 x Jar of Greed
3 x Accumulated Fortune
3 x Dimension Wall
3 x Waboku
2 x Reckless Greed
2 x Ojama Trio

The idea, of course, is to kill the opponent using Chain Strike right at the end of a long chain. Even if your opponent doesn't fork out any counters, you could deal up to 2400 damage with Chain Strike alone.

For instance, your opponent attacks and destroys your set Mecha Dog Marron, hence starting a chain (I think) which allows you to add Link 2 with Ojama Trio, Link 3 with Secret Barrel, Link 4 with Accumulated Fortune, Link 5 with Chain Detonation, and finally Link 6 with Chain Strike.

1000 (Mecha Dog Marron)
+1800 (Secret Barrel; 5 cards in hand and 4 on field)
+500 (Chain Detonation, which returns to hand)
+2400 (Chain Strike; Chain Link 6 x 400)

Total Damage = 5700 damage + 3 cards in hand

There are variants that don't use monsters at all, though I believe Morphing Jar should be included in here.

I get the idea, but bad example.

After all, if Mecha-Dog Marron is destroyed by battle, you're in the Damage step and none of those cards you listed can be activated in the Damage Step. Now, if you said it was face up and the opponent destroyed it with Fissure, then that would be a better case.

The deck you posted lacks

Graceful Charity
Just Desserts
Ring of Destruction

and take out Bubbleman. It's not really needed. And 3x Chain Detonation is too much IMO. Run 2x.

And yeah, you can't chain during damage step. Mecha Dog must be destroyed not as a result of battle to start a chain.

most decent chain burn decks rely on one and only one monster and thats morphing jar so if youre gonna have monsters either just him or maybe a couple a cat of ill omens.

Also chain detonation never works out well on the day so my advice would be to put in a MST and either two dust tornados or two mystical wind typhoons.

Alright, her's what Ive come up with so far. I'm indeed not so sure about the chain detonations, but other than Magic Cilinder I can't think of many other cards to take the place:

Monster(s): 1
1 x Morphing Jar

Spells: 13

1x Mystical Space Typhoon

1x Graceful Charity
3 x Chain Strike
3 x Tremendous Fire
3 x Poison of the Old Man
2 x Wave Motion Cannon

Traps: 26

2x Dust Tornado

1x Ring of Destruction
2 x Chain Detonation
3 x Secret Barrel
3 x Jar of Greed
3 x Accumulated Fortune
3 x Dimension Wall
3 x Waboku
2 x Reckless Greed
2 x Ojama Trio

2x Just Desserts

Total: 40

So what does everybody think? :)

I've been thinking about the chain burn a lot since I've worked a few of the "chain" cards into my Simochi deck to try and speed/augment the process a bit.

But one thought I had in my mind was the massive quick play use with Emergency Provisions. Most people are running Royal Decree, so setting yourself up for a trap chain can get risky, but what about the Quick-Plays? Unless they're hefting Invader of Darkness or Spell Canceller, you can get things off to a pretty crazy start, imagine the options on your turn...

MST -> Poison of the Old Man -> Book of Moon -> Offerings to the Doomed -> Emergency Provisions (tribute the lot)

Now you can keep going!

Say Mystik Wok -> Mystical Wind Typhoon -> Chain Strike

Yean, its wild, but there you hit with 3200 damage and then 800 for Poison, clear the field a bit, and increae your lifepoints by 4000.

I forget the whoel thing about whether or not you can have 2 Poison's on the chain, but if you keep a Stray Asmodian lined up too, you can work things through kinda fast and furious.

Thoughts?

Why Mystic Wok? You don't run monsters.

Dust Tornade, MST, Mystical Wind Typhoon, etc. are all for Ssidedecks. Seriously, it's the sidedeck when you'll see Royal Decree. (unless the foe main-decks them, which is a rare case)

This is currently my version. (Not that great I admit)

Monster - 5
Exiled Force x2
Lava Golem x2
Morphing Jar

Spells - 11
Chain Strike x3
Scapegoat
Tremendous Fire x3
Poison of the old man x3
Graceful Charity

Traps - 24
Secret Barrel x3
Waboku x3
Just Desserts x3
Ojama Trio x3
Gravity Bind
Dimension Wall x3
Accumulated Fortune x3
Jar of Greed x2
Reckless Greed x2
Ring of Destruction

Sidedeck - 15
Mystical Wind Typhoon
MST
Heavy
Double Snare
Cyber Dragon x2
Goldd x3
Card Destruction
Offerings of the Doomed x2
Asura Priest
D.D. Assailant
Breaker

---

If your wondering about the whole Lava Golem + Exiled Force, is mainly just in case of if things don't go well. (Along with Jinzo) And with Exiled/Lava/Ring, it's somewhat easier to put a Ojama lock. (either 5x Ojama, or 4x Ojama + Lava) I pulled it off rarely, but once I do, I'm pretty much garenteed to win.

I skipped Ceasefire since I'm trying to go for Ojama lock, and I won't have effect monsters, so overall Just Desserts will do more damage then Ceasefire usually. And Dimension Wall over Magic Cylinder cause of Des Wombats people will sidedeck. (Wombat can't negate D Wall since it's battle damage being redirected)

one of my boys likes burn - he maintains a 'reaper is really good - your opponent has to kill it with effect thereby beginning a chain for you ....not to mention that extra bit of lifepoint protection....
