Chimeratech Overdragon vs RftDD/Dimension Fusion

I have a question regarding "Chimeratech Overdragon" and "Return from the Different Dimension" and "Dimension Fusion"

"Future Fusion" is activated on turn one, the turn player sends "Cyber Dragon", "Card Trooper", "Jinzo", and "Cyber Phoenix" to the Graveyard by the Effect of the "Future Fusion" [Targeting "Chimeratech Overdragon"]

*********************************************************************

Turn player's "Future Fusion" has reached its second turn after activation, so in Main Phase One "Chimeratech Overdragon" is Special Summoned from the Fusion Deck in face up Attack Position. "Chimeratech Over dragon's" Effect Activates and sends "Future Fusion" to the Graveyard.

(Note: Chimeratech Overdragon will have 3200 Attack Points and can attack 4 times)

The Non Turn player Activates "Torrential Tribute" destroying the "Chimeratech Over dragon"

Still in Main Phase one the Turn Player Summons "Bazoo the Soul-Eater" and removes "Jinzo, "Cyber Dragon", and "Chimeratech Overdragon" from the Graveyard.

Turn Player Activates "Return from the Different Dimension/Dimension Fusion" Special Summoning "Cyber Dragon", "Jinzo" and "Chimeratech Overdragon"

My quetion to you is will the newly Summoned "Chimeratech Overdragon" have 3200 Attack Points? And can he attack 4 times?

Am I severely confused about this whole situation, or is Overdragon a nomi, unable to be summoned under any circumstances except those described exactly in its text?

Wow....where to start.

first, when Chimeratech sends Future Fusion to the the Grave, Future Fusion Will destroy Chimeratech by its effect, even if your opponent doesn't chain Torrential.

Second, your set Return From the Different Dimesion will have been sent as well by Chimeratech, so you would need to use Dimension Fusion.

Third, if Chimeratech could have back, he would be at 0/0 due to being reset in the Graveyard. But he can't (note the except clause), so that is moot.

What you propose is not possible. "Chimeratech" is a nomi monster and cannot be Special Summoned by any other method than Fusion Summon. So, once he leaves the field, he's not coming back, unless you find a way to put him back into your Fusion Deck and properly Fusion Summon him again.

Chimeratech Overdragon is the type of Fusion Monster I called Type 2 in an article I wrote a while back. It's summoning conditions are so restrictive that you can't Special Summon him any other way, but through a Fusion Summon. Return from the Different Dimension and Dimension Fusion could never summon him to begin with.

That said, Chimeratech Overdragon stats are always what they were when he was last summoned. If you were to remove him form the field for a time with, say, Interdimensional Matter Transporter, then he would still remember the number of monsters used for it's Fusion Summon.

If temporarily removed, yes. However, if he is sent to the Graveyard (or removed "non-temp"), his effect would reset. Note from UFOroid Fighter (ala RONIN):

"¢ [Re: Power Bond] If you Fusion Summon "UFOroid Fighter" with 3000 ATK, and then later in the turn "Skill Drain" is activated, reducing its ATK to 0, you will still take 3000 points of damage during the End Phase. If you send "UFOroid Fighter" to the Graveyard so that its effect resets and its original ATK becomes zero, you still take damage equal to its original ATK at the time it was Special Summoned by "Power Bond".

Granted. But he would have to Fusion Summoned either way, so it's still going to look back at that last instance. Basically, there's never going to be an instance where he's summoned for 0/0.

What I'm wondering is what happenned to post number 9 up there... I know someone posted it but it never showed up and now it just goes from 8 to 10.

I keep seeing that a member name of "Straw Man" or "The Straw Man" is replying to this thread but never see the posts... so yes, I'm seeing what you're seeing densetsu_x

Maybe it's Chimeratech Overdragon's effect wiping the field? (tongue and cheak)
