CotD Reviewers Test

Alright, for those brave souls who have been doing CotDs just now, or for awhile, this test is for you guys. I need to get a true grip of your CotD skills, and if you have to review a certain card, then your true talent may not shine through, although ideally it would. So, as your test, review these 3 cards:

1) Different Dimension Dragon

2) My Body as a Shield

3) Windstorm of Etaqua

anyone who does different cards then these will not be considered for being a CotD writer. If you wish to apply for one of the spots (the number of spots is indeterminate, I will pick as many as I wish), send me your test (your username on it in some form) to: jkilbourne@hotmail.com

Test closes this Sunday.

Speaking of "tests" for card reviewers....

I think we need to keep closer tabs on the reviews posted by members. I've noticed that many of them lack meat, don't seem to follow any specified format, and are more a quick personal opinion than informative and helpful.

What's your opinion on this subject guys?
 
Well, they have been working for me, I guess, but I do need to come up with a specific format to follow. I have a skeleton, but I'll beef it up. ^_^

I agree that some reviews are more or less "this is my opinion on 'this' card," but if there are designated reviewers who can keep with reviews on a day-to-day basis, this should solve any lacking threads.

With enough people reviewing, people who want a particular card can send a request to either chaosruler or any of his designated "lackeys" (for lack of a better term at the moment - hint hint, come up with a name John, lol) and the review can then be done. Also, requests could even be made at Team CoTD.

And you can bet your sweet bippy I'll be taking the test ;)
 
That's an excellent idea....request for COTD. Lets make it happen. If we start getting too many though who will decide which ones and in what order?

The ability to request makes the site more personal and makes members feel they're being paid attention to and that their needs are heard and "count"

We need a request thread or a sticky for members to direct a PM to a specific person.
 
ooh... a test... *develish laugh*

sounds interesting. and it is true, a lot of non-team CotD people write reviews, sometimes stealing our cards that we are going to review later anyway. (and that is very preventable) oh, and, i need to start doing my reviews earlier in the day too... ^_^;;
 
The request line could work. As far as I know though the Team CotD section is not publically visible (or at least it shouldn't be) so something would need to be set up outside of it...
 
Alright, I have recieved 2 people's tests. Shall I assume no one else is interested? You guys have until Sunday. I will accept late entries IF NEED BE. You will need to contact me personally for such things.

I'm working on some stuff right now haven't had time to get anything done with this yet. Hopefully I can get it done by Sunday.:eek:
 
Alright, I'm locking this thread as Sunday has come. Blade146 and John Danker, just PM/e-mail me your entries (e-mail jkilbourne@hotmail.com). I will also accept anymore entries throughout the rest of today. I will post our reviewers at the end of the day. I will add/not add (depending on how good their entries are ;)) John Danker and/or Blade146 as they submit their reviews.

Alright, after reviewing my entries, I have decided upon our 5 CotD reviwers (not including myself):

Shookymaster
Archfiendgeneral

Late entrants that are accepted will be added to this list.

All those accepted need to AIM me ASAP.

Also, for future reference, all reviews need to be submitted to me first to check for mechanics errors, misinterpretations, rulings correctness, etc. Nothing personal, just being professional-ish here.
