For now, let's review one of the most hyped cards for YGO anime fanboys, the Cyber Dragon support decks.
Yes, I'm rating the Cyber Lazer Dragon and Cyber Barrier Dragon.

-----------------------
Before we start, if I'm correct, dmcomet make a mistake and Photon Generator Unit only searches from deck or hand! Meaning no graveyard searches like Bonding H20. This is bad cause that means Cyber Laser Dragon is a nomi! (Just like Cyber Barrier Dragon) I'm sorry, but with this, it'll drop some rating power. (If I'm wrong about this info, I'll change it and re-rate it.) Another obvious error they made is that Cyber Laser Dragon destroys a monster EQUAL or less then the ATK stat or the DEF stat. (Meaning, it's equal or higher then the ATK of this card ATK, or equal or higher then DEF of this card's DEF.) And this is a GOOD THING. Cause if it's JUST HIGHER and not equal... my gosh let just call this card a plain old normal monster cause he's effect is useless. I mean, who uses any monster that's higher then 2400ATK? Nobody.
Now, let's look at Cyber Laser Dragon
The summoning card Photon Generator Unit is a quick-play. That's good. So if say I have 1x Cyber Dragon and 1x Proto-Cyber Dragon, and I attack with Cyber Dragon and my foe chains a Saku, I can chain that with Photon Generator Unit, tribute 2 "Cyber Dragon" on my field (i.e. Proto Cyber Dragon) and thus I get Cyber Lazer Dragon on the field, Saku loses target and destroys itself by game mechanic. In THAT sense, it's pretty decent. (Heck, you can chain this to your foe's Brain Control as well to lose target and they just wasted a card and 800LP) But, you wasted your perfectly two staple monster on the field for an effect that's hard to trigger. I mean, if you had 2x Cyber Dragon... I rather keep my 2x 2100ATK rather then juts 1x 2400. I mean, tributing my 1x Cyber Dragon for Mobius to have 1x Mobius and 1x Cyber Dragon is a WAY better bargain.
Okay, let's look at the Cyber Laser Dragon itself. Like how many monsters out there that's 2400ATK or more in today's format? Just only the monarchs, and maybe in SOI the Saber Beetle and Chainsaw Insect... (With Treeborn Frog, maybe Ha Des and End of Anubis may make appearance.) And the monsters DEF 1800 or higher... the only one people use is GK Spy.... that's NOT alot of options... So this card need assist. (If this card had like 1000DEF like the monarch, then it can actually be ALOT better)
After much though, I think even Rush Recklessly or The Reliable Guardian is not good enough. So I opt for Axe of Dispair. Yup, you have to INCREASE your foe's monster ATK points so that Cyber Laser Dragon can target. And with Axe of Dispair, you can target any monster that's 1400ATK or more. (Now this sounds ALOT better then Rush Recklessly) And another trick we all know about Axe of Dispair. If Axe of Dispair is on the field and then sent to the graveyard, if you can tribute a monster on your side of the field, then you can put Axe of Dispair on top of your deck. (So your next draw can get you Axe of Dispair) Yep, add in Scapegoat or somekinda token producing monster/spell/trap if you want to make Cyber Laser Dragon deck. But the problem with this strat is that since you need 2 "Cyber Dragon" on the field to bring out Cyber Laser Dragon, it was meant for a bit of Cyber swarming for the deck strat. And we all know Scapegoat and swarm decks don't get along. But the good thing about Cyber Laser Dragon unlike his brother Chaos Sorcerer, he can attack after he destroyed a monster with his effect.
And lets talk Cyber Lazer Dragon's crappy defense brother, Cyber Barrier Dragon
2800DEF is pretty sweet, but it still cost 1 cards. So it's kinda like a lvl 5-6 tribute monster. (Well, it is a lvl 6 monster) But if I want a tribute wall, I rather pull out Millennium Shield for 3000DEF. And Cyber Barrier Dragon ability is just negating 1 stinking attack, and only activate when it ATK position. And this card have a weakass 800ATK... yeah, I rather pull out a Saku then this card effect. And unlike his better brother, this card's required spell card summon is a Normal Spell Card, not Quick-play. And this card is begging to be eaten by Smashing Ground... Totally worthless.
In overall, if I have 2x Cyber Dragons on my field, even if they're both 2x Proto Cyber Dragon, I rather pull out Power Bond and bring out the mac daddy 5600ATK twice attacking ultra beatstick for a potential 11800ATK in theory monster.
But it might be fun to run a Cyber Lazer Dragon Deck to see how that works out... but it's still a 3 card use. So it's like running a Fusion Deck that's a Quick-Play spell trigger.
--------
In the end, I give
Cyber Laser Dragon = 4 out of 10 (5 out of 10 if Photon Generator Unit can bring Cyber Laser Dragon from the grave)
Cyber Barrier Dragon = 2 out of 10
What am I saying, use Proto-Cyber Dragon to bring out Cyber Twin Dragon instead.
Yes, I'm rating the Cyber Lazer Dragon and Cyber Barrier Dragon.
