D.D. Warior Lady vs Mystic Wok

I can't deny the brilliance of that combo. Except . . . it won't work. ;)

You see, Mystik Wok cannot be activated in the Damage Step, which is where DDWL's effect activates. Only Spell Speed 3 cards, Spell Speed 2 cards that specifically modify ATK or DEF, and cards that say they can activate in the Damage Step may do so. All others cannot.

Ah, nuts. :tssk: So her effect is in the last stages of the damage step. I was very afraid of that. Oh well. Better tell my other friend before he tries it, too. :)

No, that's not the point. It wouldn't matter if her effect were in Sub-Step 1 of the Damage Step. It's STILL the Damage Step, and you STILL can't activate Mystik Wok there. Bummer, eh?

Thats why all this "sub-step" additives did was confuse people. Damage Step is Damage Step.

Things happen "before Damage Calculation"
Things happen "after Damage Calculation"

Inbetween, a monster is destroyed or not destroyed.

As confused as some people may get from the additions of the sub-steps it is fundamentally needed in order to properly sequence the possibilities. Knowing exactly what point Sasuke Samurai destroys a monster as opposed to Drillroid is essential to understanding what effects will trigger when these monsters attack and which will not.

Wouldn't you agree?

For the most part, both destroy monsters immediately by their effects without Damage Calculation, so that would preclude it happening at the "end" of the Damage Step.

The only difference is because Drillroid allows for the monster to be flipped face-up if face-down.
