Why is it I don't see more of this bad boy being played?

I realize he doesn't fit into most theme decks and I suppose that's partially the reason.

Still, he's a one tribute monster that can stand nose to nose with Jinzo, Mobius, etc. He's not a Nomi monster, and piercing battle damage.

I could see this fella in a Amazoness deck or Warrior deck easily as none of those type of monsters have any piercing battle damage effect but yet they're earth monsters as is Dark Driceratops. A Gaia Power on the field makes him a 2900 attacker with piercing battle damage? YIKES!

What Dinasour support cards are there? Nothing comes to mind directly other than something out of LOB or MRD that just powers them up a couple of hundred points.

I used to lug it around in my Side Deck back in the early IOC days. But then it went to my backpack, then the pocket in the backpack, then creased from the pocket in my backpack, you get the picture.

I don't think I've EVER seen anyone use it.

I don't think people are as eager to go with a tribute trampler in the current metagame, unless they get something else out of it. The "upper level" tributers often engouh are used for their abilities and the fact that they can stay of the field as a buffer. The two I'm thinking of are Jinzo and Mobius as of current. With the increased number of flippers that are hurting more than helping, I think NOC continues to see play and the spell/trap threat is something larger to worry about. If you do want trample, you want something like Mefist or Airknight to thin/draw with to make it worth your tribute and only when you're going to pound on some goats or something. The only other exception I can generally see would be Shinato, but that's in a category all its own.

That's just a feeling I have. Personally, if it was a fiend it would have a really good change at replacing Inferno Hammer in my current deck. Mefist is still the king of trample, if you ask me, but that's another story 8^D

Oh yeah. See back in the day before I became a fiendish duelist, I was an Earth deck man. The kicker was that there was very little high end support for the Earth monsters, short of the double tributes, and Buster Blader was the only decent one. Shortly after that all the higher end Earth support came out 8^D

That sounds like it would be a tasty beat deck indeed! Especially if you mixed some Ojama action into the mix. 8^D

Nice in combination with Robin Zombie or Robin Goblin. Dark Driceratops mostly fit in any deck, despite its theme. I also recommend to have only 1 in a deck and not two. If you want to play trample themes, then Airknight Parshath and Mefist the Infernal General backed up with Rush Recklessly, Dark Driceratops would fit and if you play it smoothly, these tactical monsters can bring your opponent out of balance.
I'd definitely give this one 4 out of 5 stars for a rating.

I suppose you could make a deck based on trampler and trample only with Spear Dragons, mefist airknight and driceratops and the others I syppose it would be hard to build it to work though.

Actully with the current ban list it's quite easy to do. I've seen a number of different trample decks that are no fun at all to play agaist! Kassier Colosium and Ojama Trio are a good bit of fun to throw in these decks.

I'm with DeathJester --- I think Dark Driceratops is a very good card. I'm just eager to know what "Dri-" means...? (Tri = three, Dri = ???)

You're totally right - Earth-down deck = massive damage.

And really, when you think about it, after you summon him, Mobius is essentially just another monster. At least Dark Driceratops will always have an effect.
