Can I use DD Gate's first effect (remove 1 of each player's monsters) multiple times?

My friend says that DD Gate is continuous so he can keep removing monsters as many times as he wants, as long as monsters exist on both sides of the field. I, however, thinks that the monsters can only be removed when DD Gate is activated.

Am I right?

You are correct. The card text only states that the monsters stay removed as long as the card is on the field. It does not make any provisions about removing add'l monsters for the same card.

It can only be used to remove 1 monster from both players' side of the field. The continuous part is that as long as it stays on the field, both monsters stay removed from play. You cannot use the effect to keep removing monsters.
