hey, im usually inclined for finding my own answers, but this one is confusing me. By the wording, i wouldnt say it does. But then again, this is yu-gi-oh..things arent all that simple. so does Dimension Wall
(You can only activate this card when your opponent declares an attack with a monster. Instead of you, your opponent takes the Battle Damage you would have taken as a result of this battle.)

work for direct attacks? by that, say i get attacked by a monarch, does my opp take 2400 instead of me?

Yes and yes. You were attacked by a monster. And you took Battle Damage. There's nothing in the card that indicates it has to be battle between two monsters.

You can chain multiple Dimension Walls...however, you'd be wasting any more than one copy.

Battle Damage can only be redirected once.

Lets take a look at the text of Dimension Wall...

Text

After the effect of the first Dimension Wall is applied, the effect of the next copy of Dimension Wall no longer sees anything because it is no longer battle damage that, "you would have taken as a result of this battle."
