These 3 monsters all have similar abilities: [By discarding this card from your hand to the Graveyard, take control of 1 face-up X or Y-Type monster your opponent controls until the end of this turn.]


I am assuming that the wording, "By discarding..." that this is a Spell Speed 1, Main Phase only effect. Unlike Kuriboh's "Discard this card. Make...." allowing it to be Multi-Trigger. The rulings don't say.

I think, as Fury said, that it has to say you can use the effect on your opponent's turn in order to be a multi-trigger effect.

Here are two examples, firstly D.D. Crow from the Strike of Neos set:

STON-JP024 D.D. Crow [Rare]
Dark/Winged-Beast/1/100/100
Discard this card from your hand to the Graveyard. Remove 1 card in your opponent's Graveyard from the game. You can activate this effect during your opponent's turn as well.

Secondly, Strike Ninja also states it can be used on the opponent's turn.

You can remove this card from play until the End Phase of this turn by removing from play 2 DARK monsters in your Graveyard. You can use this effect during either player's turn. You can only use this effect once per turn.

For D.D. Crows effect.
can that be chained to Flip effect monster such as Mask of Darkness ?

Also can be chained to spell/traps such as Call of the Haunted ?
How does it work excatly?
