Giving up too much?

I'm curious to know what everyone's opinion of Infernal Incinerator is? For those who may have their mouse buttons disabled...

Infernal Incinerator
Effect Monster (Fiend / FIRE / 6 Stars / ATK 2800 / DEF 1800)
This card can only be Normal Summoned or Set by discarding all card(s) in your hand to the Graveyard except this card, as well as Tributing 1 card with ATK 2000 or higher from your side of the field. Increase the ATK of this monster by 200 points for each monster on your opponent's side of the field. Decrease the ATK of this card by 500 points for each monster on your side of the field, except this card.

"¢ Discarding your hand is a cost to Normal Summon or Set this card. It will not activate the effect of a card like "Goldd, Wu-Lord of Dark World".
"¢ You must have at least 1 other card in your hand, besides "Infernal Incinerator", to discard when your Normal Summon or Set "Infernal Incinerator".
"¢ This card can be Special Summoned (even from your Deck, with a card like "Monster Gate"). You do not have to discard your hand when you Special Summon this card.
"¢ When you Normal Summon or Set "Infernal Incinerator", it does not start a chain even though you are using the monster's effect to do so.

Right now, he's the highest 6-Star monster in the game, though he has some unique summoning requirements. I've been toying with a couple deck ideas that I think Infernal Incinerator could work in, but it just seems like you give up too many resources for it. In a sense, you could say "well, i'll just swarm with those monsters I give up with the discard." But then that brings down the ATK of this guy, even if he gets a boost against swarm decks. The whole thing seems counter-productive, and I'm "on the fence" so to speak with this guy.

What do you all think?

I like the card, a lot. I do not care for the discard cost. Let us keep in mind there is a reason why Chazz still uses it in his Deck in future episodes of GX. It combos well with Ojamagic. You get a strong monster, and 3 Ojamas. The downfall I see is having a monster of 2000 ATK or more to Tribute. If Chthonian Alliance did not get changed I would use this card more. I want to actually put this card in another Deck soon, but until I can figure out where I will just admire it. Wait until Magical Mallet comes to the TCG and we get the Ojama support, then this will seem cool.

Giving up your entire hand PLUS a specific monster (2000+ atk) is a ridiculous cost for a monster that does nothing else on the field except fluctuate its atk stats.

If you really wanted to get this monster out the "normal" way, I would suggest Zombyra, Giant Orc, or Fusilier as tributes and a hand of Night Assailant (with a flip monster in the grave). Given these optimal conditions, we can count on performing this act very seldomly. The fact that the discard is a cost simply ruins its snyergy with the Dark Realm monsters. (Why was it introduced in the same set?)

So...your best bet is Reasoning/dump revival, and even then, a 2 monster swarm would make this guy 2300atk. Simply put...just no.

Yeah, he's definitely a toughie to use. And I expected to get some less than stellar remarks about him. I'm thinking we're overlooking something though.

I know Reasoning and Monster Gate could be good ideas (heck, it's even in the rulings). I was also thinking Zombies could make good use of him. But I'm not much of a Zombie specialist. Any thoughts on that?

If you Special Summon or set it the previous turn and Flip Summon it, sure.

My opinion, though, is that he's good if you have no other monsters. If you have one other monster and your opponent has 0, bam, 2300 ATK. If your opponent has a defense position monster and you have no monsters, 3000 ATK, but you won't be able to abuse it. If you summon him, and he's destroyed, essentially, you're topdecking. Not worth it 50% of the time, since these are the most common situations.

As far as Zombies go... Reborn Zombie, Patrician of Darkness. That's all I can think of. Why Zombies, though?

And straying toward the obvious, why not Skill Drain and Ojama Trio + Big Bang Shot or Fairy Meteor Crush? Or even Windstorm of Etaqua. And hey, Reverse Trap when you have lots of monsters (Scapegoat) and your opponent has, preferably, none.
