I predict a GLEE deck will be victorious at the next PC.

I've been play testing against a GLEE deck for the last 2 weeks and still don't have a great solution to stop them. I'm planning on running Blue Abuse, the best I can come up with is Phantom Zone to remove Kyle from the game and try to slow them down in getting constructs. Then I use escape artist to save myself when the beat gets way out of hand.

Anyone else have any good stategies against GLEE?

If you were Running Equip Gotham Knights, I'd say Utility Belt. That slows down Dr. Light termendously.

I don't think GLEE will win the PC, although it'll be all over the place. The top teams have known about GLEE for a while, and have been testing against it nonstop. If it wins, it'll have to be a teched out build, run by a really good player. I think Superman Robots has a chance, and I think someone will come up with a good combo deck also. I just wish I'd qualified, I have a killer deck that I wanted to try out there. Oh well, another time...

I wonder if the Rama-burn combo will see play. >> Hmm, perhaps. It wouldn't win, but it'd be interesting.

Just for the sake of clarity, are we takling about the Green Lantern/Emerald Enemies Team-Up here?

Yes, GLEE=Green Lantern/Emerald Enemies.

I feel the same as Alex to be honest, GLEE is almost over powering in Golden Age, one can only imagine that it'll dominate Modern Age.

Keep in mind that decks like Gotham Knight equip and the Superman Robots (well I take it you mean vomiting them out like with Longshot) aren't playable in this coming PC since the only legal sets are Man of Steel and Green Lantern.

I'm not too proficient on DC Modern Age, mainly because I haven't playtested a thing nor do I plan on playing that PC or the entire age of PCQs (I'll play Avengers Sealed PCQs actually instead, I love Avengers!!!). Next PC I play will most likely be GenCon SoCal when they go back to Golden Age.

But anyways, yeah, I'll have to agree with Alex on this one. As much time as people have had to playtest against GLEE, there just isn't enough from both Man of Steel and Green Lantern that can stop it.

GLEE literally is the next Curve Sentinels.

RS/EE?? How's that deck work?

I was actually thinking of droping a couple of RS characters into my superman/new gods deck since I run 8 team-ups I figured I could throw in one more team. And RS has some characters that can add a thorn to GLEE side....

basically you team them together and you go second on turn 8 you got dooms day, and on the previous turns before you keep using cards like Death of superman, Bizzarro World (before avengers) to get the stealing plot twist effect.

then you use cards like that giant conceacled squirl and lex luther, and dooms day, and all that, its preaty wicked becuase you end up drawing practically your entire deck.

The scary part is lasting till turn 8 against a GLEE. They swarm so fast and attack with so many pumps. The other day I got hit by a 2 drop at 27 atk... kinda sucked....

Doomsday is soooo good, I always wanted to use him in a deck. Maybe a RS stall might work I'll try it tomorrow during playtesting with my group.

I doubt you guys were actually playtesting against a GLEE deck though (not just something someone threw together either, but a battle tested deck, maybe get someone to net deck one of the many copies that have top 8'ed 10K's in the past few months and playtest against it sometime). I don't see how a deck like that could make it to turn 8 without GLEE Breaking Ground your team-ups/Bizarro World and swinging in with their own over powered attackers with Oa, etc....

Well, actually RS does have a card that doesn't allow them to target your resources, now what is it called, ahhh "State of the Union". That might work to save team-ups and locations.... but still iffy....

The problem agaisnt glee is stalling them. They can get 6 characters on the field easily. I've given up on hoping to keep locations and ongoing plot-twists alive since they can easily get "Breaking Ground" with "Kyle".

I figure if I can somehow shutdown the "Kyle" and "Dr. Light" combo I should have a good chance to beat them. Removing options that's what its all about.

oo why not try manhunters? the 4 drop pan can make it easy for you to remove from lay all the breaking grounds in the deck. and Man hunters are a myth can help you in not being targeted or your characters not beign targeted.

you can also keep burning through their deck with the harley quins and so forth. :D

I would have to play against a GLEE deck because it seems like something far worse than a 4 drop doom and a Latverian Embasy.

Yeah, I suggest everyone who plays VS to play against a GLEE deck, chances are it'll be around for a very long time.

Gee. Ar we the only five guys on this site that play VS? I'm starting to be able to gues what you guys are going to say.

LMAO. Well, we could always get more if we had a VS site that got the traffic that netrep.net gets linking to these forums.....

yeah, we need to get a bigger player base on this site. Its such a great game....

I was actually tossing the manhunter idea around last night, but everyone kept on finding good reasons not to run it. I think the key to doing good at the PC is going to be having that killer tech to smash this deck. I have a feeling 75% of the decks are going to be GLEE.
