"Global Game"

So, this morning, Mr. Tewart has sent out a notice stating that the Banned/Restriction Lists will take place on September 1, 2006 and March 1, 2007. The notice is posted below.

Now, earlier this year, Konami mandated that the TCG follow the OCG's list because Konami said Yu Gi Oh is a Global Game. Following that, we have had news and releases of various promos/cards that were only available in Asia (Magician's Valkyria, Crush Card Virus, Yu-Jo Friendship, Unity, Judgment of the Pharaoh).

With all this in mind, are we really seeing Konami respond to our cries of getting promo cards released and are they really making a genuine effort to make this a "Global Game"? Is the future of Yu Gi Oh TCG brighter than it may seem (considering the lack of "tier 1 cards" many players think, in recents sets) or are we just being teased with a few cards to quench our cries and be forced to subject to Konami's mandates? Discuss.

Everyone,

Just so you have some advance notice, the next Forbidden/Limited list will go
into effect on September 1, rather than the regularly scheduled October 1. (And
the following list should be March 1, 2007.) This will be a permanent shift
of 1 month forward for all future lists.

The new list will be on the web page soon.

Please pass this along to your local tournament center.

Thanks,

I am glad that they are changing it to sept. I really don't like this ban list anyway. I do hope we start getting some of the cards that they already have.

I'm curious about the new list. A lot of players said they are completely unhappy with the current list and I see a big chance to give them some satisfaction with a new cool list.

Hopefully, it will turn out to be a balanced format and not a 'one deck >>>> every other'.

On the other hand, people are getting more and more easily annoyed. We had Shift Decks, then Chaos Decks, then Anti-Chaos (with Tomato and Swap), then "recruiter" (I'm still not sure why they called the deck this name, but as most Metagame.com deck titles, it looks like they've chosen it because it sounds cool <referring to 'Warrior toolbox' which could also have been called 'allgoodcardsinone.deck with a lot of warriors in it' or for the sake of simplicity 'control.deck with lots of warriors'>) and so on...

So even if you have several decks that tend to dominate the format, people are unhappy, because they pray for a lot of decks to be able to get the crown.
