Hand Limit Question??

From my understanding, the most cards you can have in your hand is 6. What happens if you have 9 cards (say from a Cyber Jar)? Do you randomly discard cards, select which cards you want to discard etc.. Just real unclear as what has to take place if you have too many cards?

Thanks!

From what I understand, if you are forced to have more than 6 cards due to an effect, say by your opponent attacking your face down Cyber Jar, then you hold your cards until the end of your next turn. During your turn, if you still hold more than 6, you must discard, during the End Phase.

(let's see who beats me to it....or corrects me, lol)

I think you mean "... until your next end phase". (just sounds like if you got 6+ cards in your hand during your turn it wouldn't be a problem 'til your next turn);)

oops! sorry about that. I assumed that it would have been clear that I was referring to when it was your opponent's turn, since, in my example, that the opponent attacked a face down Cyber Jar.

but, yes. I should have provided examples for when in was the Turn player's turn, and when it was the opponent's turn.

Thanks for clearing that up.

No worries, other than that you were quite clear and the amount of times one of us posts something thinking we were completely clear only to have someone think we meant something different or get confused by it, doubt you'll get a single day without and instance of such.
e.g. the most recent post here: http://www.cogonline.net/threads.9665&page=2

So, in summary, if you have more than six cards in your hand and you want to end your turn, unless a card like Infinite Cards is in play which allows you to exceed the six card limit...*sucks in deep breath* ...you must discard a card or cards of your choice until you have six cards in your hand before you can end your turn.

Just for the record, when everyone says "at the end phase" for these discards, does it mean thatthere is a moment in time inbetween when one palyer would have to discard, and when his/her opponent draws to begin their turn in which effects can be activated?

Well yes. The End Phase can have multiple things happen and in any order depending on the event. You could choose to have Gaia Soul the Combustible Collective die by his effect before you discard your extra cards or vice versa. Your opponent could choose to play Spell Speed 2 effects here in chain or responce to these events or effects. But until both players agree that the end phase is over then the End Phase ain't over.
