Funnily enough I helped fix my friend's Zombie Deck as well last night so some ideas are still fresh in my head.
Firstly, the monsters I feel is a major problem to the deck. I feel there are way too many tributes and the tributes are running in near the same number as non-tributes being 10:7
Confiscation has been played less from what I've heard, but it's excellent for the side-deck to help go against "combo" decks, for example OTKs or even FTKs (if any exist yet). Therefore....
- 1
Despair from the Dark
- 3
Regenerating Mummy
- 1
Ryu Kokki
That'll free up a good 5 monster slots to play with and experiment with. With a lot of magics and quite a bit of dependency on them (eg.
Call of the Mummy,
Book of Life), there is no reason to not run
Magician of Faith. Also, I'm sure it's no harm to include a
D.D. Warrior Lady to clear the field for a direct hit from
Vampire Lord or
Ryu Kokki etc etc.
Giant Rat will also do brilliantly I feel in this deck with the
Pyramid Turtles in it. In that case you could also consider running
Exiled Force which has good speed for clearing a field of both face-up and face-down monsters with their effects probably not activating.

Magician of Faith
+ 1
Giant Rat
+ 1
D.D. Warrior Lady
+ 1
Exiled Force
I can't really decide on the last monster slot but I'll think of something later. Note that the
Giant Rat can search for
Pyramid Turtles for suiciding to bring out the bigger monsters or to search out for an
Exiled Force to help clear the field.
As for magics, I think the
Nobleman of Extermination really just won't do a lot of help and could risk losing a trap for you. Also, as sirch1964 has already mentioned, the
Lightning Vortex can be a dead draw a lot of the time, reducing your hand quite fast, although again as sirch1964 mentioned, it's good for against warrior swarms so you should definately side deck it.
Confiscation should move to the side-deck also as it is also a dead draw a lot.

In
Exchange for all of those, you shoud have maindecked another
Fissure since I also find them handy as well, the only down side to them is when facing
Scapegoats

Fissure
I believe that should be around 3 slots open now. Finally onto the traps. With only 5 traps you have a low percentage of drawing any at all. So here is my suggestion...
+ 2
Dust Tornado
Dust Tornado will be handy to clear the field and usually can leave your opponent with no Magic/Traps when they end their turn, if you had
Dust Tornado already set and activated it during the opponent's End Phase.
With the last slot you should add in a monster but preferably not one with a tribute. Hang on! Just thought of it...

Sangan
This will provide a lot of purpose in this deck especially with 11 monsters that are searchable by it.
So the new line-up in my opinion should be....
Monsters ( 17 )

As for recommendations to the Side Deck, always look for reasons why you lose. For example if you pulled a card as a dead-draw but did brilliantly against a certain deck type, you should side deck it. Also if you realised your opponent always had too many monsters, you should have
Lightning Vortex probably in your Side Deck.
But from what I mentioned earlier, these two should be in your side deck...

Lightning Vortex

Confiscation
Other cards I would recommend would be a
Mystic Swordsman LV2,
Swarm of Locusts I use against Burners,
Cursed Seal of the Forbidden Spell, and maybe even an
Elephant Statue of Disaster which had saved me recently =)
Note: This deck fix is based on the original deck list which started this thread.
