Hello once again sports fans. Just thought I'd say hi and see how people are doing. I hope the winter is treating everyone fairly (except those of you down under, where it's summer).

I live in Dubuque, Iowa. We have alot of snow. This would be great if I skiied (?) or still could sled. we have a hill that's about a 50 degree angle and about 60-70 feet tall just down at the end of the street. Kids around here like it.:peace:

By the way, anyone in the Dubuque area that duels, please contact me. I am interested in getting back into duelling but have no place to go.:)

Politicians are still hassling me on the phone. Like I said before, write me in as a candidate for president and I do the best job I can. I'm not joking. Could you see CBS and NBC reporting that sirch1964 received 10% of the vote. I'd laugh. How many crazies would try to say that they were me (not realizing I am already crazy). I'll take any suggestions. I have no format, my opinions mean nothing and I'll vote the way the people want me to vote (like politics were supposed to be originally).:2good:

Enough politics. That Holiday season approaches and I'd like to wish everyone a safe and happy time, no matter what religion or way you celebrate the season.:cool:

Hey Sirch! I LOOOOVE the avatar. I've drifted out of the PPG camp into the Foster's camp, but I still have much affection toward that crew 8^D

As for the phone calls, do you have caller ID? If not, you can get a phone with teh caller ID built into it pretty cheap and I think most phone services offer it standard. It turns out that our phone number is the same as an old, or updated, cafe in town, so at least once a week we get a call or two from them, or a call for the previous owner, and it gets pretty annoying. So now if we don't recognize the number coming in, we don't answer. It takes two seconds to pick up the phone after that if it winds up being somebody we know 8^D

I'm jealous for the snow! We had our first a few weeks ago and it was awesome. We're about 5700 feet up, so we'll get some more, but none to sled with yet, and my girls are too young for that, or so the Mrs. tells me 8^D

I have what some would consider a radical solution to dealing with annoying phone calls. I don't answer the phone . . . EVER.

Granted, I have a cell phone with the people I know programed, and I answer the phone when the wife calls (about 70% of the time anyway), but I'm pretty well known for not answering the phone just because it rings. Even if I know you. I've always been of a mind that the whole concept of the ring was so that you could be alerted to a call before you decide to answer it. Otherwise phone calls would just connect and start talking to you without ever even knowing if your in the house. Can you imagine the mother-in-law's voice just going "Hello? Hello!?" in the middle of the night? I should be allowed the option of just not feeling like talking today.

Hrm, that turned into a rant. I need to make that animated rant smiley. Am I making any sense? Where's the remote control? Okay, I haven't slept in 48 hours, so that should explain something. Goodnight folks.
 
Well sirch I plan on being in Dubuque with my family on the evening of the 27th of Dec. We're taking the boys sking (well, for them snowboarding...but I'm an old man and keep on two boards) We'll be staying at the Grand Harbor Resort. If you're interested in a few games let me know, I'm sure we can arrange something.

As far as the phone calls I've adopted a couple of tactics. The first and most effective....IF I do answer the phone (I've actually taken the answering machine offline. With cell phones these days anyone I REALLY need to talk to knows that number) I ask them to give me their home phone number and I'll call them at a more convenient time. If they're unwilling to do that....then whatever they have to say just isn't all that important is it? The other tactic I used to use is to let them talk to Jake <laffin....sirch knows my son>
