is there any counter /loopholes for defeating magical cylinder? other than the usual Seven Tools of the Bandit

Interdimensional Matter Transporter
Compulsory Evacuation Device

Probably more, but they come to mind first...
 
BBTD is good, Trap Jammer, 7 tools, Solemn Judgment, and Royal Decree, These are counters that come to mind right now, as well as Book of moon, Interdimensional, compulsory, etc.

I disagree... this is from UDE's FAQ... (http://www.upperdeckentertainment.com/yugioh/faq_card_rulings.aspx?first=A&last=C)

If you chain "Book of Moon" to "Magic Cylinder", "Ring of Destruction", or "Trap Hole" to flip the target of any of those cards face-down, the card's effect disappears. (See "Activation & Targeting Eligibility" in the Advanced FAQ.)

Actually, you'd want to activate "Mirror Force" first, then chain "Magic Cylinder" because if "Mirror Force" resolves first, destroying the attacking monster, "Magic Cylinder" has no "ATK" to look at when it resolves so its effect disappears.

As mentioned, you either would need something to negate "Magic Cylinder" (like 7 Tools, Trap Jammer, Royal Decree, Call of the Haunted Jinzo to the field, Solemn Judgment) or something to get rid of the attacking monster (Raigeki Break, Ring of Destruction, Compulsory Evacuation Device), or Book of Moon it to flip it face down. :D
