Hi Curtis!

Does Colossal Fighter target the Warrior Type Monster when it is destroyed as a result of battle and sent to the Graveyard?

Colossal Fighter. "This card gains 100 ATK for every Warrior-Type monster in any Graveyard. When this card is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard, Special Summon 1 Warrior-Type monster from either player's Graveyard."

i think a ruling reverse needs to be in order as there is nothing in this cards text that would make it target like all the other targing cards are like

I don't know....sounds just like Fear Monger to me:

Destiny Hero - Fear Monger
Effect Monster (Warrior / DARK / 4 Stars / ATK 1000 / DEF 1000)
If this card is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard, Special Summon 1 "Destiny Hero" monster from your Graveyard (except a "Destiny Hero - Fear Monger") during your next Standby Phase.
• This card's effect targets 1 "Destiny Hero" monster in your Graveyard, when it activates during your Standby Phase.

Although, not in the rulings, it has always been played that Lord Poison and Guardian Trice target. It is fairly typical that when it states "1" vs. "a", it probably targets.
