Life of the Hummingbird

I must admit, after seeing the article by Julia Hedberg on metagame.com, I was convinced that Neo-Spacian Air Hummingbird isn't as bad as I originally thought. Her idea to use it in a Chain Energy deck was a stroke of genius. So I decided to parlay that into a deck idea....

Deck Name: Hummingbird Energy
Author: Jeremy Johnson
Count: 41

Monsters (19):
Tribute Monsters:
Mobius the Frost Monarch x2

Non-Tribute Monsters:
Flying Kamakiri #1 x2
Neo-Spacian Air Hummingbird x3
Nimble Momonga x3
Sangan
Solar Flare Dragon x3
Sonic Shooter x2
Stealth Bird x3

Spells (13):
Book of Moon
Chain Energy x3
Messenger of Peace x3
Mystical Space Typhoon
Premature Burial
Snatch Steal
Wave-Motion Cannon x3

Traps (9):
Call of the Haunted
Ceasefire
Dust Tornado x2
Icarus Attack
Ring of Destruction
Sakuretsu Armor x2
Torrential Tribute

Side Deck (0):
still in the works

Great topic by Hedberg, indeed. But IMO there's a difference between her idea about Hummingbird and yours Jathro.

I like the idea of Wave-Motion Cannon in this deck, it will probably work well. Moreoever, Chain Energy should hurt your opponent a lot (at least more than it will hurt you).

However, I don't like monsters like Stealth Bird and Sonic Shooter, which are both too slow IMO. At least one or two Fire Princess should be in this deck; personnally, I'd play two Fire Princesses and one UFO Turtle to bring it out quickly.

Well Hummingbird, Kamakiri, Sangan are a must, and Nimble Momonga causes big psychological trouble to you foe, so I think this is ok (I won't spend my time talking about Möbius, everybody knows it is good in almost every deck).

BUT there's one thing I don't get: why do you run three Messengers of Peace and cards like Snatch Steal? As there are no cards such as Brain Control, I guess it's to sacrifice for Möbius, but then again wouldn't it be better to play sth like Offering to the Doom? Already thought about Bad Reaction to Simoichi+Upstart Goblin/Snatch Steal? The deck would turn almost in a burn deck but who cares as long as it works :p?

Finally, Icarus Attack should work pretty well if you're playing Stealth Birds and Sonic Shooters (still, I don't like them)

Hope I could you help you somehow
