Lingering COTH

What qualifies as destroyed again?
if you were to call a monster and have it tributed Call would remain right? same with having that claled monster out of played.

What about exiled force, and using his effect when called by coth.....i cant think of anyhting else

but what are some scenarios where it lingers?

thx

Lingers? What lingers?, any scenario in which the monster selected by Call of the Haunted is not destroyed, Call will remain on the field:

- Flipped face down
- Returned to the hand/deck
- Tributed for any means
- Sent to the grave (ie Mystic Wok)
etc.

Basically, if the monster that is attached to "Call of the Haunted" isn't removed from the field by a card that includes "destroy" in the effect, the "Call of the Haunted" remains (lingers) on the field. Tributing is not destroying. Sending is not destroying. Removing from play is not destroying. Returning to the hand is not destroying. Destroying is destroying.

Agreed but add that CotH may remain on the Field if it is detached from its targeted monster when the monster is flipped face-down or negated at the time by cards such as "Jinzo" or "Royal Decree".

Lots of duelists don't think a useless "Call of the Haunted" left on the Field has any significance on a match, but with the introduction of "Treeborn Frog", the determination of CotH remaining on the Field has become even more important. As pointed out by Kyhotae, determining whether the CotH attached monster is destroyed or not is the determining factor whether or not CotH is destroyed.

Here's an example with "D.D. Warrior Lady" that can go either way:
1. "D.D. Warrior Lady" special summoned by "Call of the Haunted" attacks "Sangan" and removes both monsters from play. CotH remains on the Field.
2. CotH revived "D.D. Warrior Lady" suicides herself into "Chaos Sorceror" and removes both monsters from play. CotH is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard.

In example 1. "D.D. Warrior Lady" is not destroyed, only removed by her effect, thus CotH will remain on the Field. In Ex. 2. "D.D. Warrior Lady" is destroyed when she battles the higher ATK "Chaos Sorceror". She can remove both monsters from play, but since she is destroyed, CotH goes to the Graveyard.

Even in the championship match of the Chicago SJC, we had to caution a player to leave his "Call of the Haunted" on the Field, when he tributed the attached monster.
