Looking Ahead 6 - Necroface

This card was released in the same Variable Book Promo set as Sealed Gold Coffer. As such there's no idea when it may come to the TCG.

Necroface
Dark/Zombie/4/1200/1800
When this card is Normal Summoned successfully, return all cards that were removed from play back to the owner's Deck, and then shuffle your Deck. The ATK of this card increases by 100 points for each card that was returned by this effect. If this card is removed from play, both players remove from play the top 5 cards from their respective Decks.

Where From: Valuable Book Promo 9
Likely TCG Appearance: Champion Pack / Structure Deck

You have 2 ways you can play this card. Remove from play as many cards as possible in order to Normal Summon Necroface and create a huge beatstick. Or more likely, use his as an Undead Needle Worm to just blow through your opponent's deck within a few turns. How easy is it to do this?

1) Sealed Gold Coffer. This card removes the selected card from play face up. This will activate Necroface's effect if he is chosen.
2) Interdimensional Matter Transporter. Temporarily remove Necroface from play.
3) Dimensionhole. Same as IMT above.
4) Return from the Different Dimension. If Necroface is already Removed from Play, use this to return him and during the end phase *poof* he's gone again.
5) Necroface. Since his effect remove cards from play, if another copy is within the top 5 cards of your deck, the new one will have his effect trigger as well.

Further Necroface is easily searchable/retrievable by Sangan, Mystic Tomato, Pyramid Turtle, and Book of Life. Throw in Soul Absorption to gain 5000 Life Points each time Necroface's effect goes off. Further, since unlike Needle Worm, the cards being milled are removed from play, you will likely shut down any strategy your opponent might have.

4 out of 5 in his own deck. Necroface isn't a card you just splash into a deck (though it is a decent Side Deck choice against a Macro/Dim. Fissure deck). It's strength comes from it's own dedicated deck. As long as the card remains unrestricted, you have a very solid (and surprising reliable) deck type that's not commonly seen in play. I would predict that if it does come over to the TCG it will end up getting Restricted within 6 months though. It has that much potential to be that abusable. (For anyone who was WC07, build a dedicated Necroface deck to see what I'm talking about. It's very easy to use him to deck out your opponent and still end up with 20000 or more life points).

<drools /> Another excellent card, especially for RFP! I think the rumor I heard is that the artwork for Necroface is actually the doll that the Dark Lady (Dark Necrofear) is holding. It looks to be a nice remnant from the Fiend/Zombie alliance that once took place.

I looked at the art for Dark Necrofear, but I couldn't see it. I guess it could be possible, but it's definitely not as obvious as say Warrior Lady of the Wasteland and Chain Thrasher -> D.D. Warrior Lady and D.D. Survivor.

This card definitely has some very, very sick combos. It's definitely unique, and I've even been OTK'd by a Necroface/Fire Princess deck, which is kind of sick in its own way.

Definitely need OCG support we don't have yet, like Foolish Burial and Sealed Gold Coffer to really, REALLY make a Necroface deck shine, but it's a wonder to watch the thing at its fullest potential. It's very hard to win against a Necroface deck once the "ball gets rolling" so to speak, since most all builds of it use Soul Absorption and gain a disgusting amount of LP.

This card alone could get Return From the Different Dimension limited to 1, because of the sheer craziness of the decks sometimes. It's a combo deck card, for sure, and a fun one, in its own right. I do hope we get it soon, as unlikely as that may be, just to see what kind of disruption it would cause to the TCG.

Gren Maju loves this guy in some very, unholy, sick way. It's never fun getting hit by a 6000+ ATK fiend if by some chance (which happens a lot more frequently than you'd think) one Necroface removes another, and then the third (which usually lets the Necroface player gain thousands of LP in the process.)

Against the CPU Necroface deck in the WC07 game, inserting 3 copies of Bad Reaction to Simochi is your best friend though.
